Sometimes, when I put too much crack in my pipe, it oils, and produces this brown oil with a FOUL smell and taste, kind of like burnt licorice but way worse. When this happens, I have to clean the whole thing out and change the chore because it smells and tastes so bad. I noticed it can be caused by pointing pipe down when smoking, smoking too big of hits, too much heat, and not letting pipe cool. But recently this has happened after every hit no matter how careful I am! What is this stuff, and how else do I avoid it? I want to learn more about this nasty brown oil but can’t find any info online.

When I smoked I found that if I Burnt a bigger hit that would happen,,if you put a lot of heat on a small hit it would just burn away normally and not last long enough to burn nasty,,but bigger hits would last and make a lot of oil then excessive heat would fuck it up…

Not totally sure I'm thinking of the same thing, cause every time I've had brown oil in my stem it wasn't a problem, that was residue, cocaine oil that had condensed and was running down the stem. It was always excellent crack, where I could load a large rock and get several blasts, not burning it up. After a few, the cocaine oil would begin running down inside the stem, towards my mouth, and I would just heat the stem from below with my lighter and tilt the stem so the oil ran back down into the chore, then I would continue hitting. Maybe the foul taste could be you accidentally burning it to a degree, or some cut or contaminant, more likely if it's darker.

Bro r u stupid that’s your push that’s literally my favorite part of smoking crack sometimes I get so high off those hits im like fuckin trippin it’s such an intense high I love strapping the pipe then loading those oil hits ontop the chore like a normal hit

You are burning it.
Are you using stainless steel chore or copper?
Using copper means you can heat it a lot more gently with the same effect.
If you hold the flame right on it and keep sucking it’s like a turbocharger or blowing on a campfire. It just gets hotter and hotter and it will burn and turn brown and taste yuk.

The first reply is talking about realise but if done correctly the residue buildup on the glass should be pure white.
If it’s brown then its burnt and if it’s black or has black spots, that because it’s cut with something.

Don’t use a jet lighter. Use an adjustable bit and hold the flame underneath with the pipe vertical. Flames should not touch and don’t suck too hard.

Harder you suck the hotter it gets (if flame is touching) and also you will just suck the vaporized oil through. Experiment with different flame sizes and distances. When you heat it to the right temperature and suck the right speed, it should be pure white buildup. If it isn’t then it’s cut with something not good for base.

You’re probably inadvertently drooling and getting saliva in the pipe. It only takes a very small amount and it makes your hit taste nasty as hell. You need to immediately throw the screen material ( Chore Boy) away and usually clean out your pipe. Lots of people do this without realizing it, that’s why most people point the pipe upward.

Don't hate cause this fella has class. Well, as much as any crackhead can have. Also same that shit HITS but my gag reflex goes into hyperdrive when I hit that shit. I know it's like 10% dope and 90% carbon and filler but ehhhhhh I'm broke so fuck it. I've heard about ppl cleaning it up then re-rocking it though. Might try that if I ever get rid of this tire pressure gauge pipe for a glass one.
