its about DXM plus clonidine for withdrawal, the combination does work quite well as far as eliminating anxiety and making sleep possible. it has helped me quite a bit
after using oxy and h for about 3 years i got on subs. was on them for about 6 months and tapered down to about .25 mg per day.
Then came time to jump since I had a few week off from work. First I went 4 days without sub but then accidentally took some diphenydramine (which is a terrible idea if you are withdrawing, as it will cause terrible anxiety and RLS).
so I felt so miserable after the dipphen that I took another .5 mg of sub that night. From then on I haven't touched it. The 3rd or fourth day was the worst. But 300mg of DXM per day and .2 mg of clonidine 3X per day made all the difference. I was able to sleep by the 4th day for about 5 hours a night. Now at day 6 I am starting to improve quite a bit and see the light at the end of the tunnel. the worst symptom right now is severe fatigue and minor anxiety. exercising has helped also if I could muster the strength to do so.
I've heard that some people don't get hit with the worst of the sub withdrawals till after a week or so, but i'm hoping that isn't the case for me since I tapered down to such a small dose and did 4 days off before going for the 6 days i'm currently at.
I can say it feels amazing to think that I won't have to worry about always having drugs or going into withdrawal, that piece of mind is what makes me feel so good about going through this torture and feeling like shit for weeks or how ever long it is going to be.
I'm going to my sub doctor tomorrow and hoping to get some wellbutrin to help with the PAWS fatigue which i can deal with right now, but if i have to go back to work and it hasn't subsided that could suck.
