im not sure where to post this..
or even if i should post this....
but this weekend my friend took her frist cap of e (ck) and she was feeling fine.
i talked to her later on in the nite and she looked so scared i asked her what was wrong and she said "i duno". she said she took another half..i tried taking care of her..
but we got split up agian some how..
i dont remember cause i was on e too and was really happy..
later on in the nite my friend comes up to me and tells me shes in the hospital..
i thought its ok they'll just pump her stomach or something...
i woke up this afternoon and found out that she was still in the hospital and she has sweallin in her brain..
some people are saying that the other half she took was pure mdma..
i dunno

Brain swelling sounds like water intoxication.
Water intoxication is one of the most common causes of Ecstasy deaths now. It happens when people drink too much water.
In the past people used to die of not drinking to much. Most harm reduction literature now encourages people to "drink lots of water"
Good guidelines are about a pint of water an hour while your dancing and a cup of water an hour while chilling.
As it was her first time she probably didn't know about this.
This is the best advice you can give anyone the first time they roll, please pass it on.
This info hasn't been brought up on the board recently.

What I've also noticed lately is people saying that you don't pee when you're on E because you're dehydrated so you should drink water till you need to pee.
This is also incorrect, possibly dangerous information.
E is an anti-diretic which means it stops you from peeing, no matter how much water is in your system. You start peeing again when you start coming down.
This has been mentioned in the New to XTC forum a couple of times....maybe it should be mentioned in the FAQ as well (deep? johnboy?)

i asked my friends if she was drinking water...
and they said yeah..
so im dont think its cause of that..
i feel so bad..
i wanna tell my self to stop doing e.

well.. i talked to alot of ppl today..
and it turned out she did more then 1 and half..
she was XTC dumb no one had really told her what to do.....
she took her first half
it didnt kick in so she thought she had to take her other half..
10 min later didnt kick in so she took a whole
..
it was kinda kickin in .. so she decided to take another whole to make her feel better..
later on in the nite she said her face hurt and her head hurt....
..
as it turns out there was a hospital accross the street from the venue of the rave!!
so the paramadics took her there.. and
she was kicking her legs and moaning
they had to tie her down.. to take her heart rate and blood presure and all the other stuff they had to do.. she wasnt talkin.. ..
later on she was going in and out of concisnus...
today shes kinda of able to talk
shes not gonna be out of the hospital for a couple of more days....
but the doctor gave me some tips on XTC..
i found it kind of weird that he knew so much..
he told me that all the dark coloured pills are laced with something....
if its white..
its usually Mdma..
if its a light colour it's prob. been died to screw up the cops..
for some shit like that..
..
they said her brain is swelled and she might not be the same after this...
since i'm a "teenager" they wernt really giving me the whole scope on things..
well thats what happend..
sorry for the long post..
if ya guys want i'll keep you posted on her condition

this is sad, and is really the reason why we gotta keep spreading our knowledge....
allergic reaction maybe? been meaning to dig out the statistic of how many people die each year from severe reaction to aspirin... its a frighteningly big number...
