My Dark Experiences through out my life. Lets see... where to begin. Once I was robbed at gun point. Another time I discovered my roomate committed suicide. And another time I had to break down a door because my neighbor wasn't answering her door for three days so her girl friend called the police. And the police said "Oh were sorry, but your neighbor has fourth amendment rights so we can't just break down her door". So what did I have to do ? Break down the door myself because the police wouldn't do it. And what did I find ? Her dead body on the floor next to her bed. I assumed she must of OD'ed on something. Why do I assume that ? Because she came home wasted with her girl friend three days before that. Sometimes I wonder how I cope with these things that have happened.

Damn brother, that is a lot of very tough shit, that I'm sure was extremely traumatic. I've been robbed at gunpoint myself, but finding those people like that would definitely do a number on someones mind state. You have anyone you're able to talk to about it? Could be a friend or family member, or a therapist. Just don't brush it off though, because those things are tough to deal with. Your feelings about those events might get worse if you don't process them in a healthy manner. But given enough time, you will start to heal and things will be easier.

The things that have helped me with my issues have mainly been therapy, and meds, which I definitely need. It took me a long time to find a good therapist or the right meds, but since then they have helped a lot.

You are always welcome to message me if you ever need someone to talk to.

Wow, that is hard stuff. There's just no way being robbed isn't an incredibly traumatic experience. I don't know how I'd cope with all this on top of preexisting stuff I'm already coping not too well with. Being strong sometimes seems too much of an ask when these things happen, especially finding your neighbour in that state. I doubt I would really be able to understand why her friend wasn't there to watch over her in case something went wrong. I'd be howling. None of the meds I've taken really work for trauma or severe stress, while they do mask some sensation of unease, they just don't ever truly eliminate it.

My line is open if you need someone to chat.

I imagine people who work as police or first responders have to be somewhat traumatized from seeing dead/mutilated bodies all the time. I know my friend who is a cop in Florida (not a shitty one, just happened to fall into the job after working as a mechanic), has not been right after he responded to a call where a woman's head was run over in the middle of the street from a bike accident. He has a different look in his eyes now. Although I have known some EMTS who don't seem to be bothered by their job. Affects everyone differently I suppose. Considering it's not your job to clean up dead bodies, I imagine it was quite disturbing to see that, and shouldn't have happened.

I have also been robbed, not at gunpoint, I was just really drunk and two punks in Buenos Aires got my phone, it was pathetic really. Everyone goes through shit I guess.
