My attempt at getting higher on less Mary Jane

Okay so today my sis gave me a roach she finished smoking with her friend I guess to be nice? Lolol umm.. anyways I was like fuck how the hell am I going to get baked on such a little roach ESPECIALLY with it being regs :|

Weeeeell I got to thinking that that maybe the smoke you exhale still had some THC in it enough to, so to speak, recycle and reuse it. I got an empty bottle and blew out the smoke into it and inhaled it repeating one more time before it turned into nothingness. Each toke I did the same until I killed it. Whoa! I got sooo fuckin' baked out of my mind let me tell you. I had a good 3 hour relaxation listening to some trance music and just kicking back. I guess it does seem like a really cheap way of doing something but considering I don't have a pipe anymore or anything what can you do eh? So theres a little tip I recommend which has probably been done before but for you people who haven't thought of doing it yet :)
 
I think like ninetysome percent ofTHC is absorbed within the first 3 seconds of holding it in so I dont see how this could make too big of a difference. Glad to hear it worked out for you though

Yeah trust me I thought about that too, but hey it worked right? And the thing is I've smoked plenty of small roaches like that to which I feel only a slight buzz. But this time it surprised me

i find getting less THC into my bloodstream can produce a stronger and trippier high. too much THC and the depressant effects can become more dominant

it sounds like that's what happened though maybe. if you're a regular smoker, a good 3 hour relaxing high is quite an achievement from such a small amount

i think it's because there's a sweet spot for pot's psychedelic effects. and the psychedelic effect gets you in "the flow" or zone so you can hold on to the high for longer

Do note that the roach is often more potent than the rest of the joint, as all the other smoke has passed through it, and resin has accumulated on the weed.

Some friends of mine used to refer to "smoking themselves sober", when they smoked a large amount of weed and it started making them less high the more they smoked. I've noticed an effect like that my self - after a certain point, smoking more doesn't seem to get me any higher.
There seems to be a time dependence; On several occasions i've noticed that when i smoke X amount of a batch of weed at once, i'll be "really high" and stay that way for a while, but if i were to smoke that same amount over an hour, i'd be less high than i would have been an hour after smoking that amount all at once. Though, i havn't confirmed this rigorously (by weighing bowls smoked).

It's not entirely unexpected though; cannabis contains a real witches brew of cannabinoids, all of which are partial agonists, with varying binding affinity and efficacy. In fact, here's a study where THCV was found to block the effects of THC in mice, though it appeared to act as a weak partial agonist on it's own. THCV is present in cannabis, in varying concentrations (in some indicas, as much as half of the cannabinoids present can by THCV). The pharmacology of cannabis is incredibly complicated due to the large number of compounds involved.

when i need to get really baked off a small amount of weed I just pack it in a bong, haul it super slow so i make sure to get the most amount of smoke. Then I just hold it in for 7 seconds and exhale through the nose. I dunno why but i always get way more baked if I exhale through my nose.
 
^ It's called placebo. :)

The smoke gets absorbed in your lungs, not in your nose/throat.
 
well I basically have an "unlimited" supply of weed ;)
so it doesnt matter how I get high cuz there is always more to smoke.
 
Whoever said that ninety some percent of thc was absorbed in 3 seconds is right.. your lungs absorb the thc almost instantly... when you're smoking something that not vaporized, when you hold tha smoke in all you are doing is absorbing the smoke from the leaf/steam.. not the thc
 
I personally dont think cannabinoids are even worth getting high on, all they do is make me lazy and i would rather have the upbeat feeling that i get just from inhaling thc. Plus is definetly helps with your lungs if you're only keeping the thc from the bud rather than everything else.

does the smoke really make a difference to the lungs though?
 
Yeah, after a while you will start to cough up some green/brown mucus shit... This was after about a month of smoking a quarter day, from bongs/bowls no blunts so it was all from the weed smoke.
 
^ Shit man I smoke basically all day every day but if I started coughing up green/brown mucus on the regular I would definitely tone it down a little.
 
Thats why i stopped holding my hits in for so long, thc isnt brown or green so whatever else i was inhaling was coming from the bud itself (hence my whole point in posting what i did here)
