Truffles - tripping in a field.
I've had mushrooms plenty of times before, but a few of my friends who hadn't but were curious to try some.
One of my mates ("mate A") had said "na i wouldn't try them, but then again if they were put infront of me I'd probably eat them" so that was my plan.
I decided to get some philosphers stone truffles
a)because i'd never had them before and wanted to see if they gave a different experience to p.cubenseis and
b) I'd heard that truffle trips are more eurphoric than normal shrooms, so thought this might aid in my mates having a good trip.
The planned dosage was 15g wet for me and 10g each for my 2 mates.
Normally I make a tea up but because the amount of truffles was tiny, I thought we could munch them.
I know p.cubensis taste quite icky, but these things were truely the most disgusting thing i'd ever put in my mouth!
Mate A started to puke up almost instantly, mate B actually managed to eat most of his and I ate about half before deciding to make a tea instead.
Of course we were in a field in the middle of nowhere and so by the time I'd finished making the tea I decided not to drink it because I was already starting to trip out. Therefore mate A who hadn't eaten many truffles, drunk some of the tea.
We were sitting around a fire in a little wooded grove. I was completly amazed by the fire and just sat for ages watching it dance around.
In the background I could hear Mate A and B chattering about faries. Mate B was convinced he could see some faries with guns, but mate A was arguing that faries can't have guns because they don't like metal.......
About an hour of fire watching and farie spotting passed and I started feeling nauseous and I wanted to go into our tent and lay down for a bit, but I didn't wanna go on my own so was desperately trying to covince my friends to come to.
Mate A wanted to go for a "mission" - i.e a long walk in the dark for no reason. and mate B didn't want to go anywhere because he was paranoid the faries were gonna get him....especially in a tent!
So after about 1hr of circle arguments -"i wanna go in the tent"- "i wanna go for a walk" - "can we just all stay hear together" - I won out and we put the fire out and walked back to the tent.
However when we got there it seemed I was the only one interested in going inside.
Mate A was walking round in circles talking to the stones i think and mate B was running around with a stick trying to avoid whatever it was that was after him.
I'm sitting in the front of the tent with a torche and lanten talking to the cat for about 15mins before I realise he isn't talking back.
Suddenly mate A says "right I'm going off on a mission" Mate B panics and goes crazy trying to convince him not to go coz theres wierd things out there.
Bear in mind its about 2am, pitch black and there's a thick fog all around.
So off mate A goes and disapears into the black and fog.
Mate B comes running to the tent "he's gone" and steals my torche. "SHIT its dark and i'm alone" I think....but I still have a lanten for a bit of light, a cat to cuddle and i've actually started having a pretty good coversation with the rock in front of the tent by this point.
10mins later mate B runs back screaming "he's gone, I can't see him" and steals my lanten.
Right that's it. He's stolen my lights, scared of the cat and i've just realised i'm talking to a rock for fucks sake!
So I decide to go see what the hell is going on. I stumble out of the tent and into the feild where mate B is running about psychaoticly....lanten in one hand, stick in the other.
I try to walk up to him but he moves away "dude, stand still" I move faster and faster but he just keeps running away, so I start running and chasing him. Eventually he stops but won't let me near him because he thinks I am gonna kill him with my stick....
Now he's begining to freak me out. He drops the lanten in the middle of the field because they can see where he is if he has a light - logical!
So he starts running around the field again with me following him like a lost puppy. He's darting about because he thinks there are things everywhere out to get him, but at the same time he's gotta save our other mate.
After lots of running a screaming a black figure emerges from the fog and moves towards us.
Initaitally I thought it was our other mate. Mate B thought it was "one of them" until he decided it was actually a horse running at us....
SHIT I could see it, it WAS a fucking big black horse galloping at us! No wait....was it a horse? was it mate A? was it "one of them" was it some sort of spirit shapshifting? or was it something created purely out of mine and mate B's imagination?
I decided whatever it was the best plan of action was the beat the shit into it.
Mate B is running around screaming and i'm running backwards thrashing my stick from side to side in the aim of hitting something.
It gets within about 6 feet of us and says "what the fuck are you to doing" and we eventually realise it is just our other mate.
We go back towards the tent. Me and mate A go inside, but friend B refuses to because he thinks he will be an easier target there.......eventually we get him to sit in the front door, which makes the tent fucking cold.
We start talking round in circles about strange things. I am desperate for mate B to do some of his cool shaddow puppets on the tent wall, but he refuses to break his concentration for fear of being GOT.
Mate A is trying to get us to meditate but it is not working.
I keep freaking mate B out by saying wierd stuff.
"we're on the beach" I shout and for a brief moment I had convinced me and my mates we were actually on the beach.
I'm not tired at all, but mate A keeps shouting at me not to go to sleep. I wasn't going to sleep I was just enjoying closing my eyes because I was getting some wicked visuals.
Then we get stuck in a time loop.....
For some strange reason the same events keep happening over and over and over again in prefect order.
We talk for a bit, mate A rolls a joint, we smoke it, Talk for a bit more, I remember I'm cold, realise mate B has opened the tent door again so I shout at him until he shuts it, we then decide we should play cards, remember we can't remeber how to play cards and it all starts over again.......the tent door seems to magickally open itself without me knowing every time, of course its mate B and he has reason to keep the tent door open.....so he can see the faries with guns....
Everyone keeps saying the same things, the same phrases, we keep going round and round and round. I think its quite amusing but mate A is actually convinced we really are stuck in a time loop and we can't get out.
Eventually Mate B closes the door for good and we everyone starts to drift of. I dunno bout the other 2 but my closed eye visuals are wicked, lots of bright colours and cartoon like images. It's like i'm watching some sort of fairyland scene that is going on sinside my head...
I *think* I keep waking up every hour or so, but in the morning I can't separate what were dreams and what was reality during the night.
Anyways I think the plan was a success. Even though mate A threw up and mate B went completly insane both enjoyed thier trip.
I would definately say that truffles are more of a party shroom and p.cubensis are definately more spirtual and insightful.
I haven't taken shrooms in the past when I've planned to but decided at the time that the current situation could freak me out, but with the truffles although stuff was freaking me out it was in a kinda good way.
