It was a friends 18th and 4 of us had all finally found some mushrooms to trip with, we prepared about 4g each into a tea and asked some more people around, to make a gathering to enjoy the the trip in. We all had 2 piracetam to enhance the effects of the trip and drunk/ate the tea.
around the 30 minute mark I began noticing some mild perceptual changes, colour and light started to appear brighter, and I began feeling tingling sensations throughout my body and specifically my right arm. By about 1 hour I was feeling bloated/nauseus and visuals were beginning to kick in as objects started breathing and everything started to melt a bit. I went to the toilet and experienced "the gravitron" the name we gave to the bathroom as many may know that theres something crazy about tripping in a bright empty bathroom while going to the toilet. Heh, a lot of fun.
We sat around and ate some food watched a bit of TV, but I generally philosophised and stared at visuals as more people started to show up. I wasn't in a mood to socialise but it was fun observing human interaction as my brain started to visualise patterns in peoples behaviour and the way they reacted and processed ideas. The high was a lot quieter then an acid trip, instead of shoving ideas in your face it more wafts along in the background like with weed and its as almost as if you have to work around this wall to find the ideas hidden behind it, whereas with LSD there is no wall, nothing is filtered.
The trip seemed to breath in the same way as the visuals did, It felt as if i'd waft in and out of the trip, keep popping in and out of the trip, almost like my brain was forgetting I was tripping and then bam, my conscious would click over. To compare with acid, the whole trip seems more body orientated and the visuals are less structured more breathing and melting hallucinations as opposed to LSD visuals which are more sliding and fractal patterns. Also on shrooms my body seemed to feel a lot more of the trip instead of just my head. The come-up seemed fairly cold and it wasn't until about 2 hours that I started to feel warm and the ego loss seemed to be slowly getting replaced by a sort of clarity of mind. I sat and watched as things shifted around the place and thought about my life and my thought processed. I decided to smoke some weed and this seemed to give me even more clarity.
We sat around joking about things and laughing at practically anything and around the 3 and 5 hour marks we reached our most philosophical point reflecting back upon the trip and our ideas on religions, society and the generally the way everything works. It was fun but I expected more from the trip, I think next time I'll increase my dose and perhaps sometime in the future combine some other psychedelics.
