This wasn't, on the whole, a bad trip, but it does serve to really illustrate how important setting and preparation are to a good experience.
Daniel and Damon each ate 25 grams fresh, just picked P-cubenesis mushrooms and went for a hike on the coast. This is something they do on a semi regular basis.
As the mushrooms began to take effect they found themselves on top of a small cliff dropping straight down to the beach. It was a beautiful place and the both really enjoyed the sounds of the surf and were both mesmerized by the magnificent view, the horizon was endless and the conversation was deep and absorbing. There were mild OEV's and also full 3-d CEV's They sat for HOURS on this beautiful spot thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Suddenly Damon began feeling bad, no matter how he sat he could not find comfort, he became unhappy with no apparent reason, no disturbing thoughts or anything, just pure unhappiness. He was as sad as he had ever been in his life. Now, being experienced trippers, the boys were familiar with synesthesia and knew that often emotional upset while tripping has a physical cause, they tried eating, drinking water, attempted to urinate, went for a walk.....nothing worked. Damon was miserable and sad.
As they were walking back to the car Damon vomited violently, up came all the water, Gatorade and food. Vomiting didn't occur until 6 hours past ingestion, making the mushrooms themselves an unlikely suspect for the stomach upset.
When they arrived back to meet up with Daniel's sober wife, she commented with alarm that Damon was bright RED, and though it was a hot day and he had walked at least a mile, he wasn't sweating. She quickly deduced that he was suffering a mild case of sunstroke. She took him home gave him a cool bath and some Gatorade, later aspirin for his sunburn and he felt much better. Daniel wasn't feeling too great himself until later the evening, similar but less pronounced symptoms. Damon's mysterious emotional upset is solved!!! Synesthesia bit him right square on the butt, he was percieving being sunburnt, hot and dehydrated as emotional sadness instead of physical discomfort.
It's pretty obvious where the boys went wrong, they took off at noon on a hot day without hats or sunscreen and probably not properly hydrating until Damon was already feeling bad. TOO LATE!!
Important lesson about set and setting, Damon learned his for sure, hope others find this helpful. If the boys had taken hats, sunscreen and hydrated properly, maybe found some shade, the trip would have been 100% positive.

Thanks for posting. It would be good to get the full report on here :)

Damon is an experienced hiker, camper and surfer; he really should have known better. I am glad everything worked out for them both.
Glad you posted! Setting is one of the most important things to arrange.
:)

Damon is a diver, not a surfer ;)
But, you are absolutely correct.....HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER.
Gotta take care of the body while the mind is off exploring, cause you don't wanna come home to a mess.

Dork Eh?, go swim with a manatee Daisybabe!!
(Just kidding sweety, you know you're my little bit of Florida sunshine)
Can't say enough about setting...Damon definately learned the hard way.
