Mushroom chocolates: do they keep in a freezer?

I had a friend come back from BM ( last sept) and gifted me some mushroom chocolates. Its about the size of
a small peanut butter cupcake. I have 2. I froze it immediately like it was an edible, but I
am now wondering:

Does mushrooms keep for several months, or is it likely to be spoiled? I dont think you can freeze
mushrooms because they are fungus, right? So if that is the case, is it likely that the mushrooms
should not be eaten even if they are in chocolate?

I stored my homemade mushroom chocolates in the freezer with no loss of potency back in the day.

You can't freeze fresh mushrooms because that would wreck the cell structure, but once they're powdered and dried you can freeze em fine.

Yes it depends on the condition the mushrooms were in when the chocolates were prepared. If this was done properly using very dry mushroom material, there is no problem and you only need to heed the general chocolate freezer shelf life rules which probably makes it okay to store for a long time.
