For the past 2 nights I've been unable to sleep due to my chest, shoulders, and head twitching/jerking. Not sure whats causing it but its pissin me off. I was on promethazine for bronchitus for about 6 days. Day I stopped taking it that night these fuckin twitches started. This will be the 2nd straight night I want be able to sleep because of this shit. Also just started taking percocets again after takin a year off opiates. So has anybody else had these twitches amd muscle spasms that keep them from sleeping??

Well I've experienced it, I would usually take oxycodone around 5 or 6 in the evening and that would be it, but sometimes I'd be doing something and take some at like 8-10 o'clock, and then go to bed, and I found that spasms in my legs were one symptom of that, I'd be lying there, trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden one of my legs would just kick a bit, kind of weird. But I mean not as a major thing that caused me any discomfort really. It might happen like 2-3 times that evening.

I've never heard of simple twitching or jerking muscles being so strong that it would actually keep a person from sleeping.

Have you taken benzos, I know withdrawal from them can cause extremely muscle spasms.

No benzos. Just Promethazine, ceratissun, and pain pills. But I've had WDs from benzos and this is just like that with the muscle twitches. Idk if its the codiene from the promethazine and ceratissun causing it or what.

I could be completely wrong... but I have a feeling that could be a symptom of a magnesium defficiancy

Generally speaking (without taking drugs into account) muscle spasms are caused by extreme fatigue within the muscles in question.

If you think this is caused by your current or previous drug-use I would recommend seeing a medical professional.

Any speculation by posters on a forum is just that - speculation.
