Misc MS Contin Dosing

I came across three 60mg MS Contin pills (orange with ABG 60 imprint), and have very little opiate tolerance.

I was considering crushing one 60mg up and dissolving in hot water and drinking it all, but then read that crushing can cause 'Fatal Levels of Morphine' to be absorbed.

What would be the best method to take this orally and stay with in the safe zone.

For reference, I enjoy the feeling of 3 1/2 to 4 7.5/500 MG hydrocodone/APAP (26 to 30 MG hydrocodone total).
 
Yeah, I would say taking half of one 60mg tablet (crushed) would be about right, as 30mg or Morphine Sulfate is generally thought of as bioequivalent of 30mg of Hydrocodone. Morphine is much less bioavailable, so to speak, than Hydrocodone, which is absorbed very effectively when taken orally.

I go with half a tab, wait an hour or two, then see how you feel. At that point, you may want to take another quarter (15mg) or so to get where you want to be, if you find the original dose isn't doing it for you.
 
Ms contin doesnt have a great oral BA as everyone has been saying, so the suggested amount above is probably about right. A full tablet may make you sick with no tolerance.

you can also insufflate morphine sulphate, its BA wont be very good, but you will digest your post nasal drip afterwards to some degree.. Sometimes I find myself doing this when I have a few laying around for the immediate rush.

Taking 60mg morphine IR isn't going to kill you unless you have outstanding medical problems, I am sure of it. Morphine has a poor oral BA.
