MS Contin Dosage Question

I'm a semi-experienced heroin user. I use once a week, nasally. I have no tolerance in the sense that I don't need more than a regular person would. I do, however, have a tolerance in the sense that I am experienced with my opiates and don't think that popping one or two percocets is a good way of getting high.

My stash recently ran out so I'm breaking into some MS Contin 30 mg tabs that I have left. I have exactly 2 and 1/2 left, so that's 75 mg.

I'm thinking of just taking all 75 mg in one dose tomorrow (crushed thoroughly, dissolved in hot tea to break the wax CR mechanism) with some phenergan or some other antihistamine. Is this at all unsafe?

I generally hear 60 mg being cited as a "good" oral MS Contin dose by this method. I realize that at ~25% PO bioavailability, a 15 mg difference will only be 3.75 mg in terms of plasma levels and thus pretty insignificant, but I just want to confirm.

Actually, if I take the phenergan, it would be with codeine in a syrup, so the equivalent is about 80 mg morphine.

Is 80 mg morphine orally safe?

80mg morphine will be equipotent to 80mg hydrocodone. What's your dose with that? Also, have you thought about a narcotics dose calculator? 80mg is a hefty dose for an intolerant person.

I've never used hydrocodone. Just heroin and oxys a few times. When I did oxys, I would snort 40 mg and it wouldn't get me too high. I would say that 60 mg or so of oxy snorted would probably be a better dose, possibly 80 mg. (I found that 40 mg was a bit less than half a bags worth, and I usually snort between half and a full bag).

Last Monday, after coming down mostly from my last bag, I smoked one of the pills in a cig and got a slight rush and small opiate buzz and then took another 30 mg orally and snorted 15 mg and it got me to a workable place.

Should I just take the 60 mg orally with the syrup and then snort the 15 mg later if I need it then?

EDIT: Also, I have a feeling that hydrocodone and morphine aren't equipotent when given orally because people are usually told to take 20 mg of hydro to get a good buzz going, but 60 mg of morphine for the same.

Don't smoke pills >__<

You have a similar tolerance like I do. Your dosing sounds good IMO, but not much of that 15mg will get absorbed. I'd plug it if need be.

I know, I know, don't smoke pills. I just didn't want to miss the rush. Part of the reason that I continue to do heroin once a week is simply due to the rush after the first 10 mins after I snort my first dose. Now that I've run out, the whole idea of oral opiates is pissing me off. >=(

Also, I just realized that because I have bronchitis right now it's definitely a good idea for me to do the 60 instead of the 75 (I'm still using the phenergan with codeine though).

EDIT: Yeah, actually I'm going to take the 15 mg tonight with some syrup just to help with my sleep and the chest pains then the 60 mg tomorrow with the syrup.

EDIT 2: Actually, I might have lost the 15 mg piece anyways....
