So, as I had predicted, my only real problem with college is finding the motivation to do the necessary work. Once I'm motivated, everything falls into place perfectly - I'm good with time management, have good study techniques, etc.

My problem is finding the inner oomph to get started. :\

I guess the root of the issue is that I have an ADD personality type, in which I am able to put enormous amounts of time and effort into things that are inherently interesting or rewarding for me, but conversely, things that don't immediately excite me are almost impossible to approach. And, unfortunately, not all homework is intrinsically rewarding.

Any tips?

I find what helps for me is thinking of some sort of application that I could use some particularly boring area of knowledge for. Everything has a use or there would be no point in teaching it. The trick is using your own creativity to imagine some kind of useful application for it that might be fun to develop. Think of yourself as an engineer, and of each unique piece of knowledge as a tool you have to make use of.

commitment.

seriously, all i needed to do is remember i forked over hundreds in fees for each unit (even as debt), so i simply have to do it. since i have committed that much money to the endeavour, i need to make it worth my while. it is as simple as that. if you genuinely commit, nothing will stop you.

think of it this way. non-action is literally burning a lot of money. how's that for motivating. :\
