Most common first drug

Everyone has made cannabis, the infamous 'first drug'. In my experience
My first drug was actually nicotine,
Then alcohol, then I tried morphine,
Then I tired weed. So I think everyone
Is forgetting tabbaco and alcohol.
What was your first?
 
I'm sure the first thing I tried was actually alcohol now I think of it. That must surely be the most common first drug because of its availability.

And "lol" at the dude who says alcohol and tobacco aren't drugs. Alcohol is most definitely a drug.

I think I went alcohol to cannabis to tobacco to cocaine and ecstasy. After that I tried everything but only use the first 3 frequently.
 
I know they're drugs sidna, techniqly everything is a drug , but when someone asks me what's the first drug I ever took , I don't say paracetamol or ibuprofen , anyways that's just me , just like tomatoes are a fruit but never have I put a tomatoe in my fruit salad hahaha

My first drug was alcohol, then nicotine, then cannabis.
 
Caffeine -> alcohol -> cannabis -> nicotine. I'm surprised so few list caffeine as their first drug. You really had never drunk coffee until you tried other stuff? Really? Damn...

Yeah man I know what you mean. I would say my first drug personally was weed, but I do think of alcohol as a drug. I don't think of tobacco/nicotine as a drug so much as I only use it if I smoke a joint. Alcohol, then cannabis then cocaine for me...I cant believe I first took all these drugs over 10 years ago.

I think in this context it is important to define what a drug is, a psychoactive substance - IN THIS CONTEXT. Yes, ibuprofen or paracetamol are drugs, but they are not very psychoactive (despite paracetamol's cannabinoid activity), so they don't really count in this case. Caffeine or nicotine, on the other hand, are definitely drugs. If this definition doesn't satisfy you, then think about which substances you can get high on; you can't get high on paracetamol or ibuprofen unless you wish to die, caffeine/nicotine/alcohol on the other hand work well.

Of course, there should be room for personal interpretation. As you say, Sidna, for you nicotine is only a filler in your cannabis joint, so it doesn't really count as a drug in and of itself. Analogously, I don't really want to classify caffeine as my first drug because I drank coffee or tea because my parents gave it to me, not because I wanted to get high - I didn't even really know it had psychoactive properties. But strictly speaking, it still was my first psychoactive drug.
 
Alcohol if we are including that in this case (and since everyone else is) was my first "drug". Soon followed by the typical cannabis smoking. I feel that alcohol is more of a gateway drug in some regard, as im sure in most cases you decide to take the first puff on a joint whilst drunk. :X Oh how i remember the head spins! 8(
 
I am the same as dankhead88, was rx'ed Ritalin for about a week when i was 6 or 7. Then my parents took me off of it because they realized what a load a crap that it was for me to be needing that particular drug. I did not have add/adhd I was just bored and acted out in class.

Edit:
The first drug that I took to get a little bit buzzed was alcohol when I was 16.

Alcohol/nicotine when I was in 7-8 grade.

I didn't try marijuana and other drugs until a good 20 years later.
 
Man I remeber my buddy bringing 4 red bulls and me and him getting jacked. This was in 6th grade. 4years later and we start doing some oxycodone,diazepam,alprazolam,fioricet,norcos all that shit before we even drank or smoked, man those we fun days
 
DXM and diphenhydramine together (I drank cough syrup with both of them in it).
Codeine
Weed
Alcohol
Caffeine if you want to count that
Xanax

I feel like I'm a bit weird or backwards, since I didn't start taking the most common-seeming drugs (caffeine, weed, alcohol) until after I'd already been doing DXM, diphenhydramine, and codeine for a couple of years. :P
