so i got a hold of a mortar and pestle
it is by far a better method for getting keef/grinded weed then anything else i have ever used. seriously we just threw the shake off our bag in it and in about ten minutes of grinding we had a light green dust. you can breath and it blows away. anyone else ever used this method? if you havent you def should

It takes about 20 seconds for my space case to bust up a half quarter. And that cuts my weed instead of grinding it into a pulp, which is then inferior to smoke for joints, as it burn too quickly I find.

Keep the mortar and pestle for crushing pills or other hard things.
 
thats what im saying its not to smoke straight its to sprinkle in on bowls and sprinkle on joints and shit. it doesnt ruin your weed at all thats retarded to say, the weed and all the shit on the weed is still there its just condensed down.

You're wrong about this.

Trichomes are fragile, and destroying them lowers the quality of the pot.
 
so your saying you can crush weed to the point were it doesnt do as much anymore...
i dont understand how that would make sense at all bro

smoked a big bowl of keif with my friends new bong, two rips and i was in my own world.
 
Surely a pestle and mortar is just a way to lose loads of weed that you cant 'scoop' out and is just a load of hassle, i mean I haven't tried it but it doesn't sound too effective :S

If you smoke cigarettes and you tap your finger on your tounge and get it a little wet, then rub your cigarette slightly with your finger, dab if you have to. Then put kief on the wet part, let it naturally dry and you got one hell of a cigarette.

that idea sounds amazing, I'm soo going to try that. Is there a thread with cool little tricks like this? If not there should be!
 
well im sure you could. after the first couple times theres a buildup of bud like stuck to the sides taht needs to get scraped off. maybe if you used another method to remove it you could get some oil out of it

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

When you crush the trichomes, along with exposing the cannabinoids to accelerated degradation (THC tends to degrade to CBN), you're also putting very small, sticky particles in contact with a lot of things that they can stick to (while also making them even smaller). When completely pulverized, it's more likely to stick to the mortar, stick to the pestle, stick to your fingers, stick to the bag, or just float off in the air.

I'm not saying it's gonna make your pot not work. It's just not the most efficient way of accomplishing what you want.
 
okkkkk i get where your coming from with that. and heres my response :)

ok so lets say you go through a half eigth in the mortar, and lets say you put like .5 .6 in each time. the first two times a little of the bud will be gone because it will stick to the sides, but after that theres a "wall" of bud stuck to the sides, i could now put the last .5 in and grind it up, and it will come out as .5 of weed dust... if that makes sense. i gotta get these pics up im not talking about smoking the stuff on the sides its about the stuff thats all dusty
