Opioids Morphine Sulphate 60mg First Time

Recently acquired a couple 60mg Avinzas (Morphine Sulphate) (which are extended release I believe). No/minimal opiate tolerance. 10-20mg Hydrocodone gives an enjoyable opiate buzz, and is the extent of experience. 130lb small male. Just wondering from people with more opiod experience if for the weight/experience this is too much to take at once; furthermore, will breaking it up to take a smaller dose create a dangerous situation as the formula is designed as extended release? Oral ingestion only, although I understand the bioavailability is very low this way, but simply no interest in any other ROA. Any tips are appreciated.

Cheers and stay safe.

Either take the whole thing and at your tolerance you should be able to enjoy a long lasting opiate blanket, but you could also take just half or a third. The time release is not ruined if you open the capsule, so dont worry about that. It's just hard to dose properly when it's a bunch of beads with no real measurement.

I don't really recommend experimenting with opiates because they grab you by the subconscious... but if you're going to anyway I would recommend eating the whole capsule because it's ER so 60mg/8-12 hours isn't really that strong. It should be good for your tolerance. It would be differnet if you crushed up the pill beads into a powder, thus breaking the time release and turning the morphine into instant release, in which case you would only need 1/3 of the pill.

Regularly only cannabis and alcohol. Occasionally small amounts of DXM, tramadol, or alprazolam.

I would say take the whole thing, but make absolutely sure not to drink/take any benzos(alprazolam) if you are not familiar with how you react to opiates. If you want to be as sure as you can be that you'll be safe just take half and wait a couple hours. You won't be messing up the feeling very much by splitting the dose since ER takes ages to reach peak blood levels anyhow. Be safe.

Thanks for the quality response, was very helpful. I think I'll try opening up the first one and taking half to see how it goes, and if too weak then the second one will be taken whole. Don't think I'm going to crush up the pill beads, as that might hit too hard. I have no interest in vomiting/being too sedated/nodding, as I enjoy the mild euphoria going about my day rather than being useless on the couch.

Thanks for the advice - I would definitely never stack CNS depressants on top of each other, especially considering my lack of experience with harder opiates. Sounds like taking half and seeing how it goes is the best game plan. I figured it would take a while with the ER to feel it anyhow.

Yeah there's no reason to muck with the ER since you're opiate naive, really all that would do is risk you getting sick from too much hitting you at once. I did opies for years before I tried altering the regular oral ROA in any way. totally unnecessary if you don't do em much. And yeah, a lower dose will definitely keep you in the more energetic side of things.

Store em' away for when you have a bad cold...It's the best medicine there is, (for cold "bugs") you will reap all the benefits

^Wise words. Just be careful not to mix it with cold medicine since you're opioid naive.

@OP, yes, as we all know, it's extremely easy to take more drugs if needed, but it's next to impossible to get drugs out of our bloodstream once it's been administered, so SLOWLY titrate your dose up to where you wanna be.

If they are time release 30mg's may be way too much, you would be much safer cutting them into quarters 7-8 mg's (yes, even if they are time released) give it at least an hour - 15 mg's may be way too much for your specific tolerance. Like I mentioned they are one of the best cold medicines there is, and yes do not combine w/ any OTC cold medications Do not take a whole pill, you will probably regret every minute of it.

Cheers back & STAY SAFE !

^ You do realize the chemical in question is morphine sulfate 60mg ER, right? OP Takes hydrocodone 20mg to feel good.

I'm all for the OP's safety but we don't want him to waste his gear either.

MODNOTE: Attention please. It's critical that I ensure there is no confusion on this matter.

I'm all for the OP's safety but we don't want him to waste his gear either.

Actually, Bluelight is not at all here to help users not waste their gear. We are JUST here to reduce harm.
We are not here to help people achieve a certain level of intoxication.

How would 15mg be too much? Hydrocodone and morphine are supposedly equipotent when taken orally, but I personally find morphine to be weaker.

I agree with keeping it on hand as a cold remedy. It's an awesome cough suppressant and just makes you feel better. It's shit for getting high though (orally).

The first time I was precribed 30 mg instant release morphine, (long time ago) it was plenty, I had been prescribed 10/325 percs', 10 mg (original) OC's daily.
I just think he should play it safe for the "first time" morphine dose
