Mods, I think there is a case to be made for allowing sourcing, prices and discussion

For all legal or uncontrolled opioids such as kratom. There is a strong case to be made that not only is this a form of harm reduction, it's probably one of the most effective forms of it. Why not encourage as many people as possible to switch to a much less harmful drug by giving all information and discussion in hope of making it easier for them?

It's more than a stretch to say that sourcing unscheduled opiods on BL would be HR.

There's Kratom. And then there's shit like butyr-fentanyl. Where is the line to be drawn? At the moment, it is drawn at sourcing sterile equipment and filters. Things actually promoting HR.

That's saying we should be helping people buy drugs. Bluelight isn't here to help people get drugs, it's to help people who already have those drugs use them safely.

All the information you need is already there for you, finding the drug is up to you.

This has been discussed many many times. There are dozens of other forums that cater to only sourcing.

I'm going to move this over to Support. This is not appropriate for Other Drugs.

Even IF in some specific cases it could possibly be seen as a form of HR, Bluelight is an international forum and it would be way too difficult to determine what drugs were legal/uncontrolled world-wide and keep up with the ever-changing laws. And it would be too difficult to determine when posting of sources/prices/etc was potentially in the interest of HR and when it wasn't.

Pretty much this.

I think we should be able to at least promote SoS.

People being able to find out whether or not a vendor is selling dodgy shite is most definitely harm reduction.. and it's not like you can find vendors on that site.. you need to know the vendor URL before being able to see anything.

Sorry to barge in but the thread caught my interest. I'm fairly new to this kind of forum, but I can imagine that even under the current rules there's a problem with people masquerading as genuine users in order to promote certain products or for other commercial reasons.

If somehow it was allowed that sourcing, prices and vendors could be discussed, I can imagine Bluelight getting inundated with subversive mud-slinging and other commercially-motivated nonsense.

BUT: I do agree that genuine users would benefit greatly from being able to share wisdom on who is selling shit and who isn't. As Bomb says, Kratom is a good case in point, but this would extend to synthetics as well.

But how could it ever be properly regulated? What if someone says "X sells shite but Y doesn't", then on this advice someone buys from Y and disagrees? Then Y becomes aware of the debate and tries to influence it and before you know it that thread is half-full (or more) of nonsense. At some point the mods have to step in, but when?

I don't know... it's a minefield on a tightrope if you ask me!

And where do we draw the line? LSD is less harmful than 25I, would we facilitate sourcing LSD?

Ya its kind of funny having thousands of drug users on this site controlled by ultra conservative mormon moderators with more rules than the fbi website forum. Talk about any drug you want and describe the methods used but if you mention where it came from the whole web going to explode. Its all bul sh..beep

^You seem to have misunderstood. We are a Harm Reduction forum. Drug use is just one aspect of it.

And I second some sort of relationship with SoS. Maybe not something as involved as with PR, but at least members should be able to recommend its use as a tool.

no one is forcing you to stay

People seem to think the rules here were just created on a whim.. with no thought whatsoever involved in their creation...

So I especially love it when somebody who has been a member all of 5 seconds, decides to come in and start bashing the rules and how the site functions... Could you be anymore foolish?

well i raised a ? in the homeless forum n i was sent here

i was told this thread covered my question n despite the title it really doesnt

i dont really understand why discussin prices is against the rules. we used to have the price thread n that is no more, i understand why sources shouldnt be allowed n i wont make any agruement for discussing sources because i dont see many benefits to discussing sources

but i dont understand why prices cant be mentioned

i wont say that being allowed to discuss prices offers anything to HR but i dont see why it cant be allowed, what gives? to me it seems like a pretty arbitrary rule
