moderator abuse

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, but one of the moderators in P&S has singled me out and has continued to insult and patronize me. I've reported the thread, which at the very least is in the wrong forum, but nothing has happened.

Are moderators allowed to insult people and create off topic threads about personal disputes? He has really offended me and I don't deserve it.

I've been a member of this forum for over ten years and although sometimes I get a bit carried away, I've had a lot of interesting discussions with people.

It isn't justifiable for moderators to use their powers to blatantly insult members.

He could have delivered the same message without the offensive language. He could have done it via private message. Instead he tried to publicly humiliate me.

He called me a rambling drunk, an idiot, etc.

I did nothing.

I don't think he should be a moderator of P&S based solely on this single experience.

Or at least, he should be treated the same as everyone else.

If I called him a drunken idiot and trivialized every contribution he's ever made to this forum, and he reported it, then the post would've been deleted. But since he's a moderator, he's running the show. Not only is his post not deleted, he turned it into an entire thread.

Basically because he doesn't like me, he's shining the spotlight on me and breaking various forum rules.

But he's a MODERATOR, so I guess he gets away with it...
 
The procedure is to PM the moderator in question and see if you can resolve the dispute, If you are not able to resolve it between you then you can PM the sr mod/admin of the forum (please try the first suggestion first).

TheDeceased, your current post in this thread really is OK but I've wondered if the OP didn't start a new thread just to get away from your drunken prattle in the previous thread god.....what religion am i . Regardless TD, you are on thin ice in P&S. Being drunk and verbose produces lots of words without necessarily producing postworthy content.

Drunks are often cute when they are not pissing all over your particular forum or thread. Lots of flowing words is not lots of content.

I wasn't drunk. He's just being an intellectual elitist. Because he thinks he's smarter than me (and maybe he is) he's calling me a fucking idiot.

Is that the sort of attitude moderators of this site should have?

He's supposed to stop people from breaking the rules, he's not supposed to moderate the intellect of the forum members. It is not his place to use his position as moderator to judge people or insult them.
 
The sr mod or admin will probably tell you to PM the mod if you haven't already done so.

The senior mod for P&S is "ebola?"

For what its worth, please remember that all mods and admins are volunteers and I'm sure you can appreciate that they're all human with their own views. I'm sure you can't say that you've never got a bit annoyed at someone for something at somepoint?
 
As has been stated a thousand times, and you have been here long enough to have learned it by now, if you have a problem with a mod, PM the mod or one of their superiors, dont start singling them out in the public forums though. We dont show the whole site your infractions, right? Show us the same respect.
