male plants produce pollen sacs to pollinate female flowers and create seeds.
males are undesirable for this reason, and are killed to ensure "sensimilia".
(spanish for without seed)
the female version of the cannabis plant produces the flowers which produce and hold
the cannabinoids, terpenoids, and the thc we all know and love, as well as many other active
and inactive compounds.
the species of cannabis (sativa, indica or ruderalis) plays no part in the outcome of
quality of bud.
this is affected by how well it is grown.
the seeded bud you saw was just pollinated and therefore grew seeds.
aka bad grower who didnt kill the males in time before they released pollen,
or a hermaphrodite plant.
female plants usually herm due to stress, this means they produce both female and male flowers.
*the male flowers being pollen sacs, the female ones being buds.
as a result a hermaphrodite plant will self-pollinate itself.
hermaphrodite self-pollinated seeds are almost always going to have a higher
likelihood of being feminised seeds due to the hormone levels etc at time of seed formation.
at such a cheap price,
personally i would have bought it,
picked out ALL the seeds, smoked the bud, and used the seeds to plant a crop,
and grow it properly so that MY end result was brilliant, non seeded bud.
cannabis seeds are often expensive to buy from seedbanks etc.
any bagseed you get you should save.
i once had a collection of many rare varieties (in seed),
including great strong native Thai strains, and some rare strains too.
unfortunately i was 17 and my mother found them, the silly bitch...
you should read up about cannabis
on Wikipedia, Erowid.org, Rollitup, Grasscity, and ICMAG.com.
icmag being one of the best grow sites out there.
it is better to be as knowledgeable as you possibly can
about cannabis before deciding to grow it.
good luck and happy growing!
