missed vein

i just injected a good shot of H, which was in about 80 or 90cc's of water. the problem is, most of it didn't make it into my bloodstream. even though initially i got a nice red cloud, the needle must have slipped out... now i've got a troublesome looking, rather large bubble right under my skin. the whole area (inside of elbow) is also kind of numb now. what i wanted to know was, is this still going to give me a decent high?? do you think it would be comparable to snorting that same amount?? i'm hoping that it will just slowly be absorbed into my system, without too much being wasted... this is by far the largest quantity that this has ever happened with... and so i'm a little worried... any feedback would be appreciated.... thanks.

Eh... your body will absorb most of the drug, but I'm not sure if you can really compare it to snorting. The biggest thing is to keep an eye on the spot over the next couple of days. This is the easiest way to get an abcess. I find hot compresses to be helpful if it's painful. For what it's worth- I've missed more times than I'd like to admit and I haven't developed an abcess- but it CAN happen. If it does- do NOT lance it yourself- go to a doctor. Seriously.

I had the same thing happen to me while attempting to shoot an oxy once, the bump slowly went down and I felt a little bit, but ended up snorting another 10mg (I attempted shooting 20mg) and felt it. However, the next 2 days I was completely sick (throwing up) and felt like shit although I can't really attribute this to it.
 
i have great looking veins and i admit i miss more times than i think i should and i eventually say FUCK IT and stick to snorting...not as good but good enuff HEHE
 
80 or 90 cc of water! Jesus that's a huge shot! The syringes we use to irrigate wounds only have a capacity of 60 ccs and they are huge! Mabey you meant .8 or .9cc, or mabey your bullshittin but the world will never know. As far as the numbness, if you really did what you said the bubble you made is probably pushing against a nerve and that will resolve once your body absorbs the drug, oh yeah hot compresses will also aleviate this problem.
 
Well, I'd say you know by now... you will make a damn good smack-head, because anyone that misses, gets a huge bump, and then asks only "will I get a decent high" .. well, lets just say thats the attitude to have! Rock on!
Oh, for others wondering - yeah, you still get a decent high, but no rush and of course it's not *AS GOOD*
 
Yeah, you definitely mean .8 or.9 cc...80-90 cc (ie. MILLILITERS) would be HUGE amount of liquid to inject!
As for missing...yeah, it happens to the best of us...and it usually turns out alright. Numbess is very common. Some pain and a fair deal of swelling is almost gauranteed...but it should start improving within a day or so.
I would only worry about missing a vein if the drug being injected were especially dirty/cut to shit...as this could lead to an infection which could be very bad (not to mention painful), especially if not treated right away. So, if the injection site does not start improving soon, and certainly if it gets much worse, you should see a doctor ASAP.
In the meantime, try not use that arm too much, and leave the injection site alone for the most part. I presume that you swabbed the site with rubbing alcohol after injecting, and then applied some neosporin? If not, do so now.
And yeah, in the future, be VERY careful about not moving the needle after you've gotten it in the vein. I think it is a common mistake to be careless after hitting the vein (you think 'ahh, the hard part is done'), but you should be extra cautious to make sure that your hand is stable and that you keep the needle steady so it doesn't move -- especially while you are putting pressure on the plunger.
Btw, you will definitely still get high, but there wont' be that 'rush' (which is, at least in my opinion, the best part of injecting heroin)...but you should still feel a decent amount of opiated bliss.

I learned an extremely valueable lesson earlier today when I missed my vein entirely...
what to do when you miss your vein: run it under really really hot water and rub really really hard on the spot where you missed. not only will you decrease the chances of an absess forming--BUT you will also soon feel the warm rush as if you hadn't missed at all. This really works people!! you can miss your vein AND still get high (the rush isn't as good of course but hey-you missed your vein dumbass!).

uh, no...snorting is not good enough for me. it doesn't matter how many times I miss or have trouble finding a vein I am addicted to the needle

i find snorting just as good a high, but in a different way...i find it gives me a better "cleaner" high....banging it usually has abad habit of making me nauseous even when the high isnt that potent...
i know several people who like shooting up everything they get....im not sure how sticking oneself could be addicting in itself...
