Misc missed half a shot

it'll still end up in my blood stream, right? i'm doing the warm compress. it doesn't hurt and i'm not too worried about health consequences as it was a clean, filtered shot. but i'm wondering if i need to do another half shot to get my full dose or if the drug will slowly work its way into my blood stream?

Depending on the drug's subcutaneous and intramuscular bioavailability, and where exactly the miss happened, some will absorb into the bloodstream.
 
crook of my arm, right next to the vein of course. i accidentally pierced all the way through after registering and didn't realize to correct myself until half was already injected. i mean where could it go if not into my blood stream? would be super annoying if my body had some way of expelling it without it getting to my brain first.

"some" sounds disappointing.

It just takes time, you'll be fine. If some stuff stayed there it would probably get infected. I've missed loads of shots, luckily I do my thing sterile, so I have had no complications.
In my knowledge it goes into the bloodstream.
 
sounds like it can end up in the lymphatic system as well. not sure what that means. doing the google.

ugh, i was on such a roll of perfect shots. got over confident and look what i did.
 
It depends upon the foreign body (in this case, the drug). Your body’s immune system is already dealing with it, we have many built in defense mechanisms that prevent or mitigate anything around us, that touches us, or that penetrates our skin to reach systemic circulation.

Yes, the lymphatic system is the body’s natural filter to systemic circulation. Some will wind up there, as well.

Depending upon it’s bioavailability for where it absorbs (i.e. subcutaneous or intramuscular), you may experience very little loss
 
word. thanks for the replies. i'm pretty high, so i'm gonna hope it doesn't get infected and slow my roll next time.

Yeah, usually a decent amount makes it to the bloodstream (of course depending upon the drug, not sure which one OP used)

If something didn't make it there where would the drug go? It would stay there and cause some shit. It just doesn't stay there, that's not how human body works. I get there are expections, but in most cases it goes into the bloodstream. It will take time tho.
The warm water thing is good.Put paper to hot water and you'll be fine.

Some would likely be isolated by the immune system’s response, some would likely be filtered through the lymphatic system from the tissues (prior to being able to ever enter the circulatory system), without knowing the specific drug those would be the two main areas of loss I can think of.

Think about it this way, if our body didn’t have some seriously good defense mechanisms to protect foreign bodies from our bloodstream, we would not be here today.

I've missed shots from time to time, in my experience no you don't need to take another half a shot.

In my case I'm talking about heroin.
 
thanks, Jess. it's an rc opiate. after a hot shower, warm compresses, and an hour or so's time, i indeed feel like i got most of the dose.
 
Personally when I’ve missed shots I’ve found the effects are diminished and I don’t get all of the drug, so I’d probably redose but with less

I would definitely agree that you don't get the same kind of rush. So it likely won't feel as good. What I mean when I said I don't think you need to redose is that when it's happened I didn't notice withdrawal come on any faster than normal.
 
meh, i ended up doing another. hit it perfect this time. love the bicep part of the big the most prominently shows lower down in the crook. it's really easy to hit higher up too so you are not always poking the same area.

usually it is 75% sometimes higher with opioids (like up to 90% with H and morphine

I knowthat you don’t care yet I want you to Know

That I can only inject in my foot now and that only works half the time and am so Skinny that Muscle Shots mess me up for days I am on a cane !

My apologies. I had a bad day and lashed out saying dumb things. You are correct and I was on a negative streak that I shouldn't have brought into these threads.
