Misinformation in mainstream media articles on drugs

What we are currently witnessing is the death of mass media (as we know it).
Information is everywhere nowadays, and it has never been easier to contradict the fictions we are presented with in the 'news'. It has never been easier to find opposing viewpoints on the same information people used to pay for - free of charge.

Now, the corporate media was always pushing the agenda of the publisher, their sponsors and whatever other big money interests (government, law enforcement or private) they are pandering to.
It is easier to spot now, than ever before, for two reasons.

One is that we can so easily find out that what we are being told is wrong; just look it up online and do a little research to make an informed opinion (on whatever subject).
The other is that the budgets of media outlets have to be stretched much further than they used to be.
"investigative journalism" is pretty much a quaint thing of the past in an industry that seems to spend more time re-telling stories (from foreign news agencies or whatever lobby group has their ear) than creating them.
So rather than create any illusions of 'fairness' or 'balance' we see opinion and editorialising creeping into every story.
It sucks, but it seems to be getting worse.
Not only drugs, but every topic you can think of; the media pushes a
message rather than offering a balance of information.
The good news!? The mainstream press is dying a slow, undignified death; and meanwhile anyone tech-savvy enough to get online and use a search engine has a wealth of information at their fingertips - the kind of wealth Rupert Murdoch wishes he could sell you (with his right wing propaganda stamped on top of it).

As for the masses still buying this shit? That's just their way, I suppose. Yes, they make up the bulk of 'public opinion', but I can only pity such willful ignorance. Seems that most people still want to be spoonfed their information, especially with a side -dish of contrived outrage. Each to their own, eh? ;)
