I read a case story about someone being treated with modafinil and mirtazipine successfully, and there seems to be no interaction between the two.
Mianserin is not available in the States, and has widely been replaced by mirtazapine, so you might not know it, but it is an analogue of mirtazapine, and afaik, has the same indications and contraindications.
I use modafinil once in a while, and was wondering if I could use mianserin (I have some at my disposal, but no mirtazapine), as a knockout pill (I am sensitive to modafinil, even at low doses). I have used Mianserin as a sleeping pill for years (although not recently), and 10 mg knocks me out like a sledgehammer.
It would be a good substitution for the huge amounts of xanax that I have to take to "come down" from a 2-300 mg dose of modafinil.
Does anyone know if this could potentially cause any problems? I searched low and high on google, without avail - all I found was data on Mirtazapine.
Thanks!
