JPLS -live pa
(2 HRS) M-nus | Berlin, Germany | Minimal / Techno.
jpls.jpg

Jeremy Jacobs also know as 'JPLS' is recognized as part of the top echelon techno producers on the globe without contest. Its no surprise that since his long awaited move to Berlin he has seen himself headlining shows across Europe on a weekly basis, sometimes for crowds registering over 10,000 plus. His Plastikman Exclusive mix was just registered as "thee" most downloaded podcast of 2010 by URB magazine, not to mention he is one of the highest selling artist's on the M-nus roster. As a performer Jeremy has tour collaborated as an act with artists such as Richie Hawtin, Marc Houle & Adam Beyer just to name a few. Another example in Feb this year (2011) he will be topping the bill above artists such as Knowone, Chris Liebing, Agaric & Cassy.

Jeremy first released his brand of deep, dark & eclectic yet very stripped down techno on net labels such as Clever and Redevice. He made his first M-nus appearance on 2006’s ‘min2MAX’ compilation, following it up with the 12” ‘Program’. Their success established himself as a major player in the M-nus camp - opening the door to release his first debut full length album on the label ‘Twilite’, which he followed up with yet another full length titled ‘Fuckshuffle’ in that same year. In 2008 he dropped two more full length releases for the label - Combination & Spooktrax, as well as contributed a track to the "Shine" compilation. In 2009 Jeremy came in strong with yet another wildly popular full length project, ‘The Depths’ as well as the JPLS + Ambivalent - Creeps EP & the follow up "Spook Trax volume II". 2010 saw his long awaited move to Berlin, and also the highly acclaimed Voxplosion EP, all on M-nus. Of course none of this is even getting into the ever extensive remix schedule (for M-nus & other labels) or extensive release discography in general for other labels such as Mindshake, Drumcode, Mothership etc etc..

Believe it or not for years during his fame Jacobs choose to made his home in Indiana, one of only two M-nus artists who didn’t choose to live in Berlin with the label during his peak. A few years ago the website mnml.nl asked him if he planned on moving there. Jacobs replied “Not yet. Berlin’s cool and I like Europe but I do such good work in the U.S. because I don’t have anything to do there. I like feeling really isolated from everything else. So as far as right now I’ll still be in the U.S.” Clearly a man of the music, dedication - not fame.

JPLS primarily performs as a live act. His first two performances with the M-nus camp were seen at the ‘min2MAX’ showcase at the DEMF in Detroit in 2006 and the M_nus New Year’s Eve showcase in Rome, Italy that same year, where he performed live in front of 10,000 people. Since then he has seen himself headlining major clubs & huge festivals across the globe on a weekly basis & has created one of the most regular & sought after release & remix schedules on the M_nus label hands down. Don't miss this rare Detroit appearance!

SKOOZBOT -live/dj
(2HRS) Plus 8, Mindshake | Berlin / Indy | Minimal / Techno.
skoozbot.jpg

"US techno producer / imprint mainstay Brian Connelly (also know as 'Skoozbot') is known & respected as one of the world's premier techno artists. Originally brought to fame from his close friend / globetrotting techno player 'JPLS' & close relationship with Paco Osuna & and +8/m-nus label head Richie Hawtin, Brian was able to bring his music to a global platform.

With multiple smash hits under his belt like Two Over The Eight (mindshake 07, feat remixes by Paco Osuna & JPLS), Next-To-Monchhichi (plus 8 08', feat remixes by Adam Beyer & Paco Osuna), The Rising Sap (plus 8 09') & his most recent release Music For Nighttime Stalking (elsubtracto 09') there seems to be nothing stopping Brian's accension to the top. Not to mention he has completed remixes over his career for names such as JPLS, Plastikman, Paco Osuna, Andre Crom, Adam Beyer & Marc Houle just to name a few.

Brian has long been interested in the interaction between humans and technology. This interest has been met in his love of electronic music, which is made by machines yet fueled by the soul. As a DJ over the past decade, Brian has never been satisfied simply blending two tracks together and has long sought to augment his mixing by incorporating the limitless possibilities provided by technology. Endless experimentation with both hardware and software has helped bridge the gap, but as technology continues to grow, so does Brian’s curiosity for using it to open up new possibilities.

This blend of the human and the electronic is further explored in his productions, where Brian aims to re-create instantaneous human emotions through electronic sounds. Although these snapshots of our consciousness can occur for just brief moments in our lives, they can continue on and be further evolved through music.”
