Stimulants Methylphenidate-DextroAmphetamine Cross tolerance?

I know that a thread of this nature has been created already, but I was unable to find anything.

So two weeks ago, I took 108mg of Concerta (Methylphenidate) on monday, tuesday and wednesday. Then, the following thursday, I took 100mg of adderall and noticed a definite diminish in effects. I normally have little-no amphetamine tolerance, so I am curious if maybe my body just processed it a little differently this time or if the Concerta affected it?

Dopamine receptor desensitization, stop using huge doses of either substance or give your body a longer break between your stimulant binges.

Concerta stops dopamine from being re-absorbed, it is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor.
Adderall releases dopamine from your nerve cells, it is a dopamine releasing agent.

An excess of dopamine in the synaptic cleft causes your body to say "Wait a sec - there's too much dopamine here - better stop stimulating this guy before he pops" and then decrease natural production of dopamine. This effect happens a lot "worse" with releasing agents like Adderall because they deplete your body's stores of dopamine/norepinephrine. Reuptake inhibitors just make the stores that you do have go a lot farther.

The effect should "level out" with time. It will be much less severe if you cut your concerta dosage down by about half, or take multi-day breaks in between dosing stimulants.

If you have little to no amphetamine tolerance, 100mg is WAY too much to take at once, or even over a single day. The crappy side effects will far outweigh any benefit if you take that much with no tolerance... even with tolerance, that's too high. So even if you don't have concerta or something fighting it I'd say take the dose way down.
