I am a functional alcoholic who is looking to either majorly cut down or totally halt my drinking for a while. I drink everyday and I am so reliant on alcohol at this point that I have mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms if I stop (insomnia, edginess, gagging, loss of appetite, and shakiness). I have a few methocarbamol pills and have read that methocarbamal works on the GABA-a receptor just like ethanol. Would I potentially be able to use methocarbamal to ween myself off booze with minimal withdrawals?

Absolutely no input to this coversion other than 10g of methocarbamol is absolutely rubbish. 1.5mg used to make act like on speed.

I dont even think methocarbamol is even active at 1.5mg.

The dose is generally 500mg and up. It might take the edge off a little, but I wouldnt expect it to do much.

The side effects are gnarly and happen to most people.

Methocarbamol just made me puke violently and gave me dilated pupils so big it looked like i took some wicked E pills. It's not a good thing for alcohol wd as it can actually cause seizures like many carbamates can.
