Methaqualone - my experience with quaaludes or what we like to call buttons in s.a.

I'm 40 years old, white male. Approximately 160 pounds long his tory with all sorts of drugs and rc's. I lived in LA California for27yrs but I was deported to south Africa now let's get down to the important stuff I never have used qua alludes before moving back to Cape Town about 6th ago. Here in south Africa mandrake buttons are everywhere. There's soo much of that it's really crazy how available it is. Bought on the street buttons are crushed and smoked with shifty weed and tobacco. Instant rush. It's the only way to consume orally or any other way is a waste. Man draw is apart of the culture here where mostly colord people smoke. It is a hole ritual preparation think
First to make a pipe take a 2 leater glass bottole and heat up near the mouth about 4inch above the mouth. Heat all the way round and when hot run cold water so bottole cracks and you have a chillum. Next take the silver paper from empty cigg box cut of extra piece so it's a rectangle now fold over and over to make a long piece about 1/8th in thick. Roll the paper in a spiral now it's round. The is the filter place it in the bottle to create filter add little tobacco first then a mix of low grade weed and tobacco and fill pipe. Now pack it down so it's pretty tight and light it and puff puff puff to light the pipe and burn the top layer. Now put it out. Now take a quarter button and crush to fine powder add to the pipe don't stirr now for take off. I have one ready so I'll take a HIT P. S sometimes it takes a couple puffs to get lit. Anyway it's ready. ...I light pipe and get it pulling dence smoke by puffing till its all light. Inhale said much as possible slow as to not cough with runes it.. A take a massive hit and...BAM...I'm hit by a powerful rush I am wobbling and it's hard to put down the pipe before I drop it. I'm ducked up can't stand or I'll fall over. Wasted.. lasts for a few minutes then I'm still feeling something but the rush is gone. It's not as euphoric as coke iv but it's pretty strong. I keep adding small scoops 3.... to top the pipe before I take another. I have 2 pills enough for me for hours of great fun

Interesting. Most of us here on Bluelight have never experienced the legendary Methaqualone (Quaalude). It would be really cool if you made one of your experiences with the drug into a more concise, minute to minute Trip Report. There's such a dearth of information regarding this drug, that your experience is actually really valuable for the sake of reference and discussion.

Thanks for sharing. I have never heard anyone else say that eating it is a waste, I have heard smoking it is good, but most reports I've read involve eating them. It would last a lot longer, but you'd need a much higher dose.

Mandrake buttons? Weird name. Mandrake is a plant in the nightshade family, quite deadly.

The brand name for it in South Africa is/was Mandrax. I believe most of it on the street is sourced from labs in India now though.

My parents did a lot of 'ludes in their day and my aunt lost a baby in a house fire due to them. They sound really fun but everyone I know that did them said it was pretty much impossible to do them without blacking out.
