Well Gentlemen, its me again. I posted a thread a week or so back regarding my Precipitated Withdrawal experience. All has been well since then. My buddy let me know that he had some left over Methadone 10's so I grabbed about 24 of them. Took them over the course of the past week. I haven't had any methadone since Sunday night at like 6pm. Thus far I have felt really no symptoms of withdrawal. I have been taking 1-2mgs of Xanax each day just to help with the anxiety.

My question is... theres no possible way I've made it through my withdrawal is there? I took 30mg last wednesday, 20mg thursday, 80mg on friday, and then on Sunday i took 110mg of Methadone. Again, I havent had any opiates of any sort since then and dont feel bad at all. I just can't begin to believe that I've beat my PST withdrawal.

Now I've read that its safe to dose suboxone after waiting 72 hours since your last Methadone does. Its been 72 hours. What do you experts think? Should I take some suboxone today or what? I have like 10 8mg strips at my disposal. If I don't need to take them then whats the point? The addict in me obviously wants to just to "take something" but what do you guys think?

IMO, you should be clear. My attitude is, if you're feeling truly sick enough to "need" it, then go for it. Even if it's too early, the precipitated wd is pretty gruesome, but really only lasts a relatively short amount of time. After that you're in the clear. That said, I think you're just fine. Good luck!

Methadone typically lasts 4 days. Some users don't go into WDs for a week. Since you took 110mg the methadone may still be in your system, it's an extremely long acting opioid.

I have a strong tolerance and I've been tapering so I start feeling WD 24 hours after my last dose but that's just me.

I would definitely wait to dose the bupe till you're fully in WD. If by some luck you don't feel WD, don't dose the bupe... Buprenorphine is also long acting and the WDs are supposed to be almost as bad as methadone WDs. Not fun, don't go there if you don't have to.

What opiate/opioid were you dependent on before switching to methadone?
