I'm sorry if I am mis-using this forum but this is the only place I get intelligible replies. I am truly not trying to misuse or bother people on this forums.

Anyway I have insomnia and overslept. Woke up right when when my methadone clinic closes, so I can't dose today!

Now I know they say you can miss a day and it should be OK. But my body is VERY seriously sensitive to missing doses. Last time, it in pure HELL ON EARTH for about a week (even from after I went right back to my regular dose the next day, I felt horrible for a week!

I have been a patient there for 7 months (on 100mgs). I tried calling my clinic, but there's only the emergency # after hours.

Now here's the reason for my post. I have two 1 year old medications prescribed by my doctor: Nucynta and Tramadol. A decent amount of both. If so how many MG of each? Does anyone know if I can use these either of these medications to cover my missed dose? I simply can not stand the symptoms of withdrawal again.

If this is not a good idea, what else can I do?

Again so sorry to bother you trouble you nice folks out there.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Both are classified as opioids with nucynta being more potent than tramadol. I wouldn't combine the two but rather just dose with nucynta. You'd have to find a dose conver chart but I THINK methadone is more potent. I've heard mixed results with nucynta being able to stave off WDs.

Take a couple hundred mgs like 300 and you should feel okay for 6 hours and then dose again and so on. You'll be fine dude. And you can throw in a couple hundred mgs of tramadol too it's not that strong but it's long lasting. Again you'll be fine man.

I'd be cautious about combining the two before the OP reads up on both of these drugs SSRI/releasing and SNRI properties and any other drugs herbal stuff he/she might be taking.

With methadone lengthy half-life, it's quite likely you shouldn't be feeling full blown withdrawals after 24 hours, although it's possible you may feel uncomfortable. It's happened to me; I missed a day of suboxone once, and I felt fine after 24 hours. I'd say if you're planning on taking tramadol, my advice would be to use it as a last resort: only use it if you're feeling intolerably bad.

Just my opinion here but if you're taking any amount of SSRI's do not take the Tramadol due to potential risk of seizures.

Methadone should have enough of a residual half-life in the body that you can miss one dose without too much misery. It shoudl only take 1-3 days of continuous methadone usage to restore your previous blood levels.

I'd avoid the nucynta and tramadol. Compared to methadone they are weak .

Hello all,
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you so much for your time and support. I actually called up some friends and one of them had some spare methaone he could give me for today!! I got enough to cover me up for today and I also got a little extra for emergencies like these just in case.

I feel very relieved that I didn't relapse or turn to one of those other drugs to cover for the day. But it was you guys in the beginning to help me thru my options! I am so grateful. Thanks a lot!
