hi, i have a huge tolerance to most things. i ran out of my usual opiates and had to resort to taking 12mg of suboxone the past 3 days. i have a very fast metabolism, but i know subs have a crazy half life of 36 hrs. just got my hands on my beloved methadones and i want to take em asap! how long should i wait if i took 12mg of sub a day for the past 3 days? btw my usual done dose is around 50mg. thx all!

The same amount of time. It doesn't matter what drug you take, whether it be opiate A with a one half-hour half life, or opiate B with a 2-week half life (for information purposes), they would half no difference in effect if they were both the same strength since neither will change the half life of buprenorphine, it's always the same. Now if you were asking the other way around, as in how soon you could take buprenorphine afterward to avoid precipitated withdrawals, that's when it would make a difference how long the half life of your drug of choice is.

The safest bet to be sure you get the most out of the methadone would be to wait until you start to feel withdrawals again.

I believe 36 hrs should be be good to dose on your methadone.
really? i wouldve guessed much longer than 36 hrs especialy after takin 12mg 3 days in a row. and scott i think you misred the post. i was saying that SUBS have a long hl not dones. i understand the hl of the opiate doesnt matter. my point was that since subs have such a long hl that it would be a while b4 it wouldnt block the dones. thus my predicament. its hard for me to tell when im wd cuz when i get wd it starts wit bad back and leg pain and anxiety, which i get often as it is!
