Hey,
Just wondering if anyone in australia knows this
is Ice the common slang name for meth in australia or does that refer to another substance?
 
If you've been reading drug articles lately, you'd see that the ice is coming from Thailand and other countries into Australia.
It's actually 4-methylaminorex.
It's similar to meth, but more potent. The high has some subtle differences, too. Sometimes you won't notice. Othertimes you'll be jacked out of your mind, but instead of wanting to talk you'll get really introverted. You can sometimes just really figure out a lot that's going on in your life from it. Last from 8-16 hours depending on the dose. It should come in large rocky chunks that resemble, duh, ice. Hence the name.
It's hard on your body, though. It's intended to be smoked. I know one person that says using it often has screwed up the enamel on their teeth from inhaling the smoke. It's also equally addictive as meth, possibly more so.
And I'm not positive, but it might not show up on a drug test since it's actually not an amphetamine. The chemical itself is made in a very similar process to meth, but it's actually more closely related to some of the compounds in the Amanita Muscaria mushrooms even though the effects are totally different.
 
Be wary, sometimes people sell meth as ice.
And if you're going to have ice, exercise caution .. it is very easy to get through without realising how wired you are.
 
In that other thread Ghost posted, there were people going back and forth between meth and ice.
I just want to make it very clear that even the Associated Press has picked up that 4-methylaminorex has been coming out of Thailand along with Yaba (their version of meth in a pill) and travelling specifically to Australia and the US in huge quantities.
I know some people that have been getting ice, and I am absolutely 100% positive of the fact that it is ice, not meth. And they have been selling it as "really good glass". I had to explain to them the difference and one person told me "it gets you tweaked all the same, it's easier to say glass instead of ice because not as many people have heard of ice". I was also told it's becoming harder to find real meth now because this stuff is so much more potent and for the price it's more cost effective then meth.
I don't know how much the $20 bags weigh out to, but I believe it's about 50mgs. It's quite enough to keep you awake for 2 days. The tiniest little bump will really put some sugar in your coffee.
Also make sure to crush it EXTREMELY well if you are going to snort it, or you will absolutely MURDER your nasal passages.
