Hey, I've been using meth for about 10 years and switched to IV about 6 months ago. The past 2 months, I've been experiencing some concerning symptoms, including trouble breathing, a tight chest, and lightheadedness. Now, In the past 2 weeks, my face and chest have been turning red and blotchy after doing a shot , plus there's an intense burning sensation. It's getting scary.

I know the easy answer is to just stop but I’m a full blown addict. I don’t wanna die but it seems the drugs are stronger than the fear of death. :( I’m trying, I’m praying daily for the strength to beat this. Any feedback is appreciated!

If you can't stop but you need to stop, you might have to check yourself in somewhere. You can easily get put into a psych ward if you present to the emergency department after a large dose of Methamphetamine talking about crazy shit. If you're in a relatively liberal area, you may be able to get into a drug detox which would also be better. If it is killing you, then you need to do whatever it takes to stop.

Who knows, you could have something like Endocarditis. It's definitely not unheard of for people who inject drugs. It is an infection of the heart that can cause all kinds of different symptoms, including chest pain/discomfort.

At any rate, you really should at least go get checked out. Make sure there isn't something seriously wrong.

I agree with Keif’ however in the meantime maybe a low dose aspirin regimen might help? Just a thought.

I’m in Los Angeles so very liberal the options are very easily accessible. It’s just about doing it. I also would like to add about. 2 months ago I went to the ER. 2 days in a row. They said there’s nothing wrong. But since then it’s just gotten scary worse. I know it’s not paranoia or health anxiety. It’s now become very physically apparent. My throat daily has more and more red what looks like cracks. Now there’s tint of blue in my throat also I’ve taken pictures daily and it’s scary looking. I hear these popping noises in my head lately . Feels like my heads going to explode. The weird thing tho is none of it is really painful. At all. It’s more extremely uncomfortable and scary. I recently ready about brain/spinal leaks and I’ve been experiencing pretty much every single symptom. That would explain the popping noises. Not my throat and chest though. I’ve also had this weird looking rash around my neck that keeps getting worse. Blotchy light red almost looks like a bunch of Red dots. Very scary. If not for me and my desire to live I have to do something, before it’s too late for my poor mom and dad who adore me greatly. 😭

Okay, I get that you're in trouble here so I'm going to be totally blunt.

You want to get in to the psych ward, you go there and tell them you're going to kill yourself. Tell them you are withdrawing from Alcohol and/or Benzodiazepines. If they ask you how much you're drinking/using, have an amount ready. Say you drink a Fifth (750ml) of Vodka a day and a 6 pack. If they ask what brand, tell them whatever is on sale. The Benzo's probably aren't a good route as they will likely test your urine.

Channel the effects of the Meth into portraying yourself as in withdrawal from sedatives. They will have to admit you if you can pull it off. Withdrawal from Alcohol can be deadly and you said you were gonna kill yourself.

If you think this is underhanded, it is not. You need help right now. You need to do whatever you need to do to get that help. I hear what you're saying about symptoms. I am really worried that you're experiencing psychosis right now. It would make us all feel better I think if you went and got the help.

Psychosis isn't deadly. It is terrifying to the person experiencing it and those around them. I've never been addicted to stimulants, but I did take way, way too much adderall one time (~400mg) as I had been taking Alprazolam (Xanax) and was not keeping track of my shit. Like a psychedelic trip, there are strange, nightmarish things that I've only ever seen/felt in that state. This was 20 years ago and I can still feel that feeling and it's not a good one.

If you need to call an ambulance, do it. End this before it gets worse. You will feel so much better if you do.

(Make sure you drink two drinks of Alcohol before you go as they will probably test you and the presence of Alcohol will strengthen your case)

Practical advice, though i interpretaded 'death' as result of not being able to stop.
Not intending suicide, correct me when wrong. But in case of suicidal tendecies.

A un-free spych-ward might be the best.
Which is good if you are actually thinking of ending your live.
You can t get out.

Other wise there is also free admitance. If you need help not a lock up.
[basickly as long as you behave its up to you/ stay or go] my 1 DETOX was.

Don t get why you wouldn t be accepted for Meth but for Alcohol, but ok.

Here you have to go to your dr 1-st anyway to get a reference to a clinic,
for whatever drug addition.
Among the Alcoholic s, a few Benzo addicts where also 1 Heroin and 1 Crack addict.

Could be demographic differences. But indeed the Alcohol WD treatment would be great for Meth.
You ll just be very sleepy, but without the horrible Alcohol WD symptoms. Sounds fluffy.

@emkee_reinvented Alcohol/Benzodiazepines will get you into the hospital as the withdrawal can be fatal. In general, withdrawal from Methamphetamine is never fatal. You could argue that withdrawal from Methamphetamine is actually therapeutic, whereas withdrawal from sedative/hypnotics can lead to seizures/death. Same thing with Opioids. Withdrawal is rarely lethal. It's extremely rare. Thus, hospitals ethically don't have to admit you for either. They absolutely are required to treat any person who could possibly die from their condition.

They will likely give you some sedatives to calm you down. It shouldn't be a terrible experience. You need a barrier between you and the drug right now. This is one way of getting it.

That is why i didn t get what the Base-head was doing there, annoying guy.

And Cocaine/ Crack not even physically addicted. So in my eyes a annoying wimp.
Irritating and big, but easy wittable with precision tactic, using my fried WD-ing brain.

Here its always via a refeference of your dr/ other mental caretaker first.
ER/ SEH/ Hospital emergancy s like a OD/ seizure.

Otherwise your gonna be directed to mental health care, by your caretaker.

The hospital would probably sent me home,
except when you mention a upcoming Alcohol/ Benzo WD.
As it s life threatening. And they are responseable from the moment you enter.

money, money, money [in as a fine for letting a patient die]

Even a non alcohol related seizure got me a Ambulance ride to the ER.
From there on it all went downhill, as they have not even a clue how to deal.
With a seizure or the accompaniying Ictal-Psychosis. Retarted hospital, i hope.

Un-free admitance would be the best choice. If one doubts to not slip/ keep up.
But eventually, its not remotely close to real life so more as a forced stop.

Returning to society will also include keeping that attitude up. Yourself.
The reward, self esteam. It won t be easy,
The reality but determination is key. Ora f... it attitude towards Meth from now on.

Ignore any trigger, or let em pass you sound motivated, so imo capable pulling it off.

You have made to switch to full iv. It is very stressful on the cardiovascular system obviously. I remember when I started I felt the same as you. I actually went straight into iv methamphetamine.

Iv meth definitely causes issues in the body, alot of that stuff your feeling is just stress from the iv doses. Be sure to eat and drink more water (before injections). Alot of the "I'm having a heart attack" stuff is in your head. If you were actually going into cardiac arrest you would know.

Make sure your only dosing 1 to 2 times every 24 hours. Obviously the healthy thing would be not to do it at all. I inject 2 to 3 times sometimes a day and I have no problems now with anything.

Look into magnesium vitamins and other vitamin supplements and a downer for night time. Stay safe.
