Mephedrone and Neurotoxicity

I have found a website which sells No speculation allowed. mephedrone. How (if) dangerous is it to use this?
How pure (percentage) is the "normal" mephedrone drug people use? No speculation allowed.

What, if any, neurotoxicity does Mepedrone cause, and why?

You'd be better off smoking crack.

Because at least it's short-term and long-term effects are relatively well known and have been studied.

With RC's like mephedrone, who knows how toxic they can be.

For all you know in 10 years, mephedrone users are gonna be dropping like flies from heart-attacks or strokes. Who knows how cardio-toxic or neuro-toxic the drug is in the long term.

First off all websites or businesses are going to claim there products are the best, its impossible to say, just like street drugs that what you pay fro is what you are going to get.

Short term effects are known as the UK has been a wash with this stuff for a good few years, it is definitely has addiction potential IME on a par with cocaine. In short term dangers I have to say it has proven relatively safe even at high dosage levels.

But the other poster is quite correct their are concerns about long term damage particularly related t the heart, however I do not agree that smoking crack is a better option.

If I remember correctly, it's not particularly neurotoxic, though as others have said, as a new chemical the long-term effects are generally not well understood. However, they are likely going to be comparable to long-term amphetamine abuse.

A site can say anything. There's no way to know what % it actually is, or if it is even mephedrone that is being sold. Often, newer, legal RCs are sold as the more popular ones (and are often sold as mixtures), which makes it even more problematic knowing what's in it, and what effect it's going to have on your health.

^NOT neurotoxic? Meph is VERY neurotoxic. Or so I thought.. Methylone is the one that's not TOO bad (apparently).

Guess I can't substantiate a claim such as that on any RC / unresearched chemical. Here's a link (searching helps!) on BL for ya to read: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/412772-Arguement-for-Mephedrone

Additionally, this drug is now illegal in many countries, and speculation (about drugs, purity, etc) isn't allowed.

Closed, PM me with queries.

Reopened, see edited OP for changes.

Sorry for posting in locked thread, but I was just basing it off a paper I read through recently. Might be a topic to discuss in ADD, but to copypaste from it:

Furthermore, mephedrone did not cause microglial
activation in striatum nor did it increase glial fibrillary acidic protein levels. Taken together,
these surprising results suggest that mephedrone, despite its numerous mechanistic overlaps with
methamphetamine and the cathinone derivatives, does not cause neurotoxicity to dopamine nerve
endings of the striatum.

No worries, I'm going to re-open it and re-structure the OP's post / question to something we can work with.

Alright - carry on; discuss the potential neurotoxicity of Mephedrone and why this might (we don't know for certain) be.
