I didn't see another movie topic going, but if there is please close this and bump it or something.

Anyway, yesterday I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I smoked ahead of time and I felt it really enhanced an already great movie. The visual effects were perfect for the mood and it's the first movie with video game influences to really do it right. [if anyone could do it, Edgar Wright could] I would highly recommend it as a good way to spend a stoned afternoon.

Also, about a week ago my friend and I smoked from a vaporizer for the first time with some really good weed. We were both having one of those rare "I'm too high" highs and we decided to find a good mindfuck movie, and we landed on Primer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390384/ It's a really good movie for a head high. Smart dialog, great story, time travel, very little music, and the movie hides its budget by doing a lot with a little.

I'm a big movie nerd so I'll probably post a lot as I watch new movies or remember good times with old ones, but please suggest movies you like while stoned here, I'm always looking for more.

Anyway, TBH I smoke JWH-018, so lately I've been getting intense highs, which I have grown very accustomed to. I can't fucking watch movies, I tried, tried, and tried again. I remember trying to watch Shutter Island, but after staring at the window behind the TV for the first half-hour I ended up turning it off and go outside to putt around on my skateboard.

When I get older and go back to regular weed, I'll prob. have such a high immunity to it :( oh well.

Anyways, I recommend these movies for when your stoned, but not too stoned.

Pan's Labyrinth (Wicked visuals)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (Dood you knoe you want to! I do)

But I've always liked music better. It lets you do focus on whatever you want, from the perspective of the music. This is true with 018 anyways (I know this is cannabis only, I apologize)

I would listen to, and usually do:

Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon (Album)
Slayer: Seasons in the Abyss (Album)
Gorillaz: Demon Days (Album)
Metallica: Orion, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Unforgiven, etc

Music is of course amazing high but that would easily fill it's own topic [or ten]

For tonight, I think I'm going to watch Danny Boyle's Sunshine. It's one of my favorite movies and I don't think I've ever watched it stoned. However, I may not make it through it because I worked 13 hours today between 5am and 1am, and I didn't sleep last night, and tomorrow I have a 10 hour shift. Who knows though
 
Just finished Arrested Development season 1-3 and Archer season 1-2. Both were fantastic.

netflix is a stoners paradise, for like, 2 weeks till you watch everything.
 
Also, I would like to say, especially since I'm new here, I hope this falls into this board properly. I think it does because I want to discuss in detail the relationship between film viewing and cannabis.

I too searched for a media thread but came up with nill. As long as it stays on track there is no reason to close it that I can think of. Welcome to BL!
 
Arrested Development is FANTASTIC stoned, I just watched through it a month or so ago. Every time I watch that show I catch more and more jokes, like the one in episode 1: "This is George Michael's cousin, Maeby"

I also find that a lot of casual comedies actually suffer when I watch them high. I watched Hot Tub Time Machine a week or so ago and I didn't like it at all, but I think I would have enjoyed it sober. I think for a comedy to be fun for me while high, it needs to be absurdly brilliant [Hot Fuzz, Mr. Show with Bob and David] or brilliantly absurd [Team America, Miss March]

Comedies that are just regular funny need to be watched sober, IMO at least.
 
Are any of you fans of Battlestar Galactica? It's my favorite show, and through June I rewatched it with one of my best friends who had never seen it. It was the first time I watched it high [although large chunks were watched drunk because I had to take a drug test for a promotion] and it was INCREDIBLE. That show has such a great story and such good characters and is paced so well that it felt new to me

I looove Mr. Show! David Cross is the shit, I think the character Tobias from Arrested Development was based on Davids sense of humor
