Now I am not famous but the idea of having your life put on a pedestal like that especially when done abruptly can be quite the shell shock for some people. The sheer amount of money and freedom especially for young stars like say Justin Bieber really keeps them out of reality. I hypothesize that their crazy behavior can be traced to stuff like derealization and depersonalization from all of the fame and attention. It's like they have no rules sometimes, until the law steps in and even then... Money saves the day.

Sorry if this is not the right place, it has to do with mental health, just not mine. This idea has been on my mind a lot and I was just looking for other's opinions.

I would agree, although I don't know what an actual diagnosis would be. You also have to remember if you're famous you can't just go down to the store to buy a roll of toilet paper like a normal person would. Always having to worry about people recognizing you, stalking you and invading your privacy when you're just trying to do things normal people do I'm sure isn't good for your mental health either. Having having so much pressure to live up to who you are and other stressors just adds to the mix. I think that's why you hear about celebrity's breakdowns, it just becomes too much.

Although this isn't just about celebrities, this guy touches on that here...

I still think Justin Bieber is a spoiled douchebag tho. :\

"Always having to worry about people recognizing you"

^reminds me of the beatles having described the popularity as being "in the eye of a hurricane"

Don't understand the hate for JB either. He's a bit of a twat but he is just a product of his circumstances (everybody is I know, but...)

He just seems like a spoiled brat. Nothing special. lol I guess I'm inclined to have more sympathy for celebrities that have a little bit of humility.
