Mecke - Green vs. Blue

I've tested a few different pills with the Mecke reagent. I know that green/blue/black indicate the presence of MDxx, but I was wondering about something a bit more specific.

If a pill starts green then goes to black without ever going blue in the middle, what does that mean?

If a pill goes straight to blue but never really goes black, what does that mean?

Grr!

I have a Mecke kit as well, and I've only tested two pills but maybe I can help.

It seems the more powder I scrape from the pill, the quicker the "to black" reaction went. Search pillreports for posts by 'volcano' and you'll see my puma and glock. You can tell in the puma photo I used way too much reagent, then you can see in my glock photo I did a little better.

What I'm saying is, scrape less next time, like the size of a pinhead or so. Less powder allows you to observe the reaction slower, from my observations.

Also, I've never seen blue unless I tilt the plate and let the reagent drip down some. The puma instantly went black and the glock was a slower fade from green into black.

As long as it's green/blue/black, I wouldn't worry :)
