MDMA variations

I once heard that there were approx 14 different "varieties" of MDMA that were chemically possible, all slightly different from each other. Since I can't remember much from high school chemistry can anyone confirm or deny this or shed some light on the topic. I think this may have been referred to as "valencies", or am I getting confused??
If this is true would it go some way to describing the differing effects between various MDMA pills (eg. a BB vs a yonex, both MDMA but one much cleaner than the other, no prizes for guessing which is which).

I think u will find the differences in pills with the same active ingredient, MDMA, is due to the huge range of quality of the MDMA which goes into the pills.
A better saying would probably be there are at least 14 ways to make and purify MDMA and hence u have different substances.
Saying that, there r differences in the MDMA such as different combinations of enantiomers which have differing effects but i think cleanliness of the sample is far more significant.
(i still have never heard of a molecule described as having different "valenices")
 
awesome phase_dancer, that was exactly the link I was looking for. I've just noticed the search button is back too, so with a word as unique as "valencies" I should have been able to find that myself :/
Mods, we can close this now, unless anyone's got comments on identifying varieties of MDMA thru practical experience. Actually on that note, I think I now know why I've had such a messy time the last 4 weekends - I've been eating BB's. I definitely think that's got something to do with it.
