So I have a friend who is currently on cymbalta and wants to roll. (No, really it is a friend. I can roll no problem. Lol!). Anyway, Cymbalta is shown to be an snri which I assume is similar to an ssri and of course from reading this forum we all know that isn't recommended. So I have a couple questions. Is an snri different in that someone who is on one can roll safely? Assuming the answer to the first question is "no", how long must one be off of an snri before it would be safe to roll? Any advice for weaning yourself off an snri is welcome too. She is only taking the cymbalta temporarily and was planning to get off of it once she gets through the difficult period she is dealing with when the time is right. We plan to attend a large event in the fall and also plan to roll there so trying to gather advice in plenty of time beforehand to make sure she is safe as possible. Thanks for your replies!

Duloxetine has an elimination half life of 12 hours. So you would need three to four days to be sure you had fully eliminated it from your system.
It sounds like strong stuff and is indicated for major depressive order so I'm wondering if it would be a good idea for anybody who has had take to take this stuff to mess with mdma at all.
Apparently you have to wean off the drug gradually over a period of time to avoid discontinuation syndrome.

1000X this^

you can't just come off that stuff. it has to be done gradually and under a doctor's suporvision. your friend needs to get his shit shorted and get off the anti-depressants for good before trying MDMA. even then, if they are prone to depressive bouts they need to tread very lightly. MDMA can bring back depression with a vengence.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to forward the link to this thread to her. A little more background info for you though. She has only been on the antidepressants for a few months now and more for anxiety than depression while she is going through an intensive program for nursing. The plan is to end their use when she is finished at the end of the summer. I also believe she said its 30 mg a day which is supposed to be a low dose. Also, she has experience with mdma in the past. None the less, just trying to help her the best I can. Thanks again!
