Hey everyone, recently I was privy to the testing of some MDMA powder (from caps) with Marquis & Mandelin reagents. The powder had a consistent texture and almost pure white with small rock like chunks of powder the same consistency as the powder. There was a slight smell i could not put my finger on but did not smell like safrole.

Marquis: slow reaction, but instantly purple gradually spreading and becoming more intense purple over time.

Mandelin: the colour reaction was also slow, but predominately purple/black colour, over time the colour changed to a smokey black/purple/grayish colour.

Apparently the test kits are around 3-6 months old, and i was quite amazed at the reaction as pressed pills have had faster and blacker reaction to Marquis, and more intense colour change on Mandelin. So does anyone have any similar experiences or ideas about this reaction?

(Please note: apparently another batch of MDMA caps were tried but unfortunately not tested recently too, but the MDMA was more crystalline and moist in texture and almost clear.)

haha just because its supposedly mdma powder doesnt mean thats what it is.

Anyways, im gunna send this over to our resident experts in pill testing for there opinions.

I see you posted this in ED & Pill Testing Q&A, in the future only post testing questions in Q&A, ED isn't the place for it.

Is there any way you can retest these and put up a pic of the reactions? You have to remember that molly is easier to adulterate than pressed pills. It takes zero effort to crush up something into a powder (or add fillers to pure product), cap it, and claim it as MDxx. You say these reactions were slow - how much time between contact and development of color?

What is the best testing kit availible? About how much will it cost? Can the avg. person perform these tests easily and accurately?
