Il shift into a depressive near suicidal state several times throughout the day. During my down periods I have extreme anxiety, paranoia, and obsessive thoughts that make it impossible to function. During my up periods I feel completely normal and clearheaded.

Can smoking too much pot make this happen? Its debilitating and im starting to intensely fear my own brain chemistry. Doctors cant find anything wrong with me and I just really really want this to stop

Your mind is like a horse that has to be tamed. If you come at it with ease and try to befriend it, it will become yours to handle. But the mind is a very tricky thing: that horse likes to jump around, cause havok, etc.
Don't always believe what your mind says. Take a few deep breaths, try to clear your mind, put on a favorite song of yours, and try to let your heart reach your mind again. (often you might cry while doing this, which means it's working!)

EDIT: Yes, that green stuff you put in your lungs can cause an underlying condition to worsen, so definately stop, taper off, or simply see a GOOD doctor. (Don't let him give you one of those anti-depressants or anti-psychotics, because it's my personal conviction that they give that stuff away like candy, while it alters your brain, maybe permanently, while there is the possibility that all you needed was rest, a little love, some caring words...)

Ive tried relaxing but I have zero control over my psyche at this point. Its like I have no way to filter any of my thoughts...
