I have been testing a powder/crystals that my friends have been taking to see if it was MDMA. I tested first with Marquis reagent which did not change colour. When I tested with Mandelin reagent after 2-3 seconds the colour changed to orange/brown indicating ketamine but after about 3 minutes the colour changed from orange/brown to purple/black indicating xtc-like substances.

I'm very confused both Mecke and Marquis showed no colour change.

So what do i have here xtc or ketamine or do i have both.

also wanted to note that I'd be willing to bet there's probably some piperazine or another research chem in the pill also because I don't think anyone's ever sold press pills containing ONLY ketamine... check ecstasydata they usually throw some pipes or meth with the K. From what you describe I'd have to say these almost definately have ketamine in them without a question, and your results don't indicate the presence of Mdxx at all. reactions after thirty seconds should ALWAYS be completely ignored as the reagents would have already oxidized, so the dark color change after a few mins is irrelevent to test results. Marquis would have reacted if these had mdxx(or even amphetamines for that matter), was there any bubble and fizz when the solution hit the substance being tested?
