Bossier Parish Sheriff’s deputies pulled James Johnson over for running off of the road as he was “shooting up.”
According to reports provided by the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Johnson, 31, of the 700 block of Cindy Lane in Haughton, was pulled over after deputies received a call from a concerned driver who witnessed Johnson running off of the road.
Upon making contact with Johnson, the deputies found five clear bags of suspected cocaine and a syringe in the vehicle.
Johnson told the deputies that he was shooting up the cocaine with a syringe when he ran off of the road. The deputy also found five Xanax pills in the vehicle in a clear bag. The suspect was transported to LSU Health Sciences Center for observation. Johnson told the officer that the cocaine was given to him in Shreveport.
Johnson faces charges of distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession of schedule IV CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and reckless operation of a vehicle.
In a separate case, Anthony McCauley, 40 of the 100 block of Crabapple Road in Plain Dealing, faces charges for disturbing the peace and public intoxication after becoming belligerent toward the plant manager at his place of work.
Police reports indicate that McCauley appeared at his place of work to pick up his paycheck and began causing a scene by cursing and demanding his paycheck, which had been released to his wife earlier.
McCauley allegedly threatened the manager. He was transported to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
In an unrelated case, officers arrested Kenneth Graves, 39 of the 200 block of Maple Street in Blanchard after he was pulled over for not having a license plate.
Upon making contact with Graves, the officer discovered that he did not have a driver’s license and he did not know where his registration was.
Graves gave the officer verbal consent to search the vehicle, at which time the officer discovered a small clear bag behind the driver’s seat on the floorboard containing suspected methamphetamine.
The officer also found a black case in the dash containing two syringes. Graves told the officer that he had used meth in the past. He faces charges of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, no registration and a defective license plate light.
