Hey mushroom enthusiasts,
Since buying the Psilocybin Mushroom Cookbook by Virginia Haze and Dr K. Mandrake, I've been experimenting with milk based extracts like they use for the milkshakes, and crystalized sugars made from alcohol extracts. In the past I've found everclear extracts of mushrooms to only last 6-8 weeks before becoming essentially useless due to potency degradation, not lasting much longer than water based extracts, even if frozen into ice cubes.
What I noticed though was that putting these into honey or other sugar filled concentrates like the "shatter" recipe in that book (think lollipops or rock candy) allegedly last essentially infinitely without noticeable potency degradation. I'm very interested in how alcohol extracts maintain the unique effect profile of the kind of mushroom you use, everclear infused with APEs vs pan cyans vs normal cubensis fungi are all noticeably different, mimicking the mushrooms from which they were extracted.
Has anybody here ever had luck with either extending the lifespan of (or reviving) ethanol extracts, or can anybody here vouch for those honey/sugar extracts lasting at least a few years?
Thanks for any info!
