Talk to mushroom pickers, get them to show you locations and species for picking.

The Stametisian Rule of Psilocybin Mushrooms
"IF the flesh stains blue, AND the spore print in purple to black, then it is most likely a psilocybin mushroom. Although i don't know of an exception to this rule doesn't mean there isn't one."
Although i would never recommend picking mushrooms without an experienced person present this is a pretty good rule. A spore print can be taken by laying a mushroom cap over a piece of white paper for a few hours until the spore drop, leaving a print of the gill structure, examine the colour from this. Also, when bruising the flesh of the mushroom do not confuse blue with blackor brown, it is a very distinct shade of blue, so if you think maybe it might not be blue then it probably isn't

just think about what type of environments mushrooms grow in.. temperate, grassy, cow paddock, just after rain... know anywhere like this? And yes, they grow in Brisbane, a few suburbs from the city
