LSD - High once, then never again?

I recently stumbled upon a connection where I scored 6 tabs of LSD. Being relatively new to LSD I decided that 2 would be a good trial dose.

My friend SWIM took two and so did I. After an hour of feeling a little different but nothing either of us could discern as significant we decided to take one more hit. That was 3 each and all of the LSD I had. Well, we ended up tripping pretty darn hard after all. Without getting into all the details the visuals were more the center of my attention. Music sounded fantastic, I could swear I was seeing colors and I literally felt the music pass through my body. It was a great experience and seemed like one of a kind.

However, it may have been the one and only. After waiting a week, I obtained more tabs from the same source. To be clear on one thing, the blotter tabs were different colors the first time from the second. In any case, I figured from the first experience that this guy was legit, so I purchased enough to last me and a few buddies a few trips.

Just to test the waters, I sampled 4 tabs alone but hardly felt a fraction of coming close to the first trip. I felt like I was looking for visuals more than they were actually just happening. I figured to myself "I got some weak acid." I waited two days to try to offset any tolerance - the longest my patience would hold out. I then dosed myself with 9 hits of the same acid, waited an hour. Felt a stronger edge than before but still nowhere near my first experience so I took the rest of my supply, 7 more hits (16 hits total). The trip is what I'd compare to being almost or barely equal to the strength of my first trip.

What I'm not sure about here is did I get some weak acid the second time around? Or did tripping alone perhaps change the setting so that I would not trip as hard? Could tolerance have something to do with not tripping as hard the 2nd and 3rd time around? Before I start asking questions to the source, I hoped to perhaps gain some insight from the online community.

Oh and hello. I'm a first time poster :)

Sounds like the second batch of blotters were bunk or stored horribly and degraded

I wouldn't buy anything else from that dude , You should be able to feel one tab of LSD nicely

I'd look for another source if you can , best of luck and happy tripping :D

=D

It does sound rather like the second quantity you bought were far weaker than the first - badly stored as Charlie suggested to be that weak, I'd think. Two days is not really long enough to completely lose any tolerance but 16 hits is a monster dose and even assuming some tolerance and pretty weak tabs you should have still been blown away. Sounds like they were beyond weak and bordering on bunk.

Maybe the guy you got them from doesn't know how to store tabs properly or maybe he ripped you off. It's shitty practice but I've known dealers who will sell you a small quantity of something of high quality so you return to buy a larger quantity and they sell you shit to make a quick buck. I think it's not only wrong but also short-term thinking at its worst but it does happen sometimes even with psyche dealers :\

Also, welcome to PD and BL in general :)

LSD tolerance really needs a week or so to taper off to a relative baseline -

I remember one particular occasion, on a friday night I ate two tabs and a couple of pills, had a wicked night. Then on monday night, I started with two tabs from the same sheet, felt nothing, and got through twenty four before I was comfortably tripping, and even that wore off very quickly.

Maybe he sold you DOx the second time around.

Some people just buy liquid from sources and have no clue what they are actually selling, it happens and it sucks.

A week isn't a long time for acid - 2 days and you're just wasting the acid. Taking the 9 hits first and then the 7 hits was a waste - I always find once you've given the first dose of acid time to get a grip on your receptors you could take as much acid as you like and the only thing you'd notice is the trip would last a little longer.

^^if he ate 16 hits of DOx.... that would probably have been an overdose unless they were retardedly weak DOx blotters....

probably just really weak blotter....

give yourself at least a week to cancle out tolerance issues....

although for me, i consider few trips on lower doses to be as intense as my first trip... 1.5 hits has destoryed me more than 4 did....

If anything, it would seem like he took large dose of DOx the first time, and then just had weak tabs the next.

Though in all likelyhood, the second batch of tabs was probably just stored incorrectly somewhere along the line, and was significantly weaker because of it.

IMO there are two aspects to tolerance. The first one is physical tolerance. Your brain will trip nicely again after about a week. But then there is mental tolerance, if you will. IME your psyche isn't ready to be blown away again after just a week. It takes me at least a month (on average) to be ready for a mindblowing experience again. It's like I need to forget what it was like, up to a centrain degree. If you go to see your favorite band play live every week it will never be as mindblowing as once a year. Keep your psychedelic experiences special, space them out sufficiently.

That's a very interesting thought, Donlivet. I find three days is enough to eliminate physical tolerance for me but you're dead right that the real mindblowing trips seem to require a considerably longer gap. There is definitely a difference between mental and physical tolerance but I must admit I'd never really considered it before. Nice post :)

Keep in mind that its not the bits of paper that are making you trip.

That should be a good enough explanation really...
