LSD -- First Time -- ....Easter Weekend '86!

My very first experience with LSD was a long, long time ago but I still remember it like yesterday. It was way back in the spring of '86 and I finally decided to try acid. I purchased just one dose of some blotter and saved it for nearly a week for a "special" occasion. I had no prior experience with psychedelics of any kind. As it turned out that occasion would be a night of partying and camping with what would end up being close to 100 people....most of which I knew....at a state park on a lake near Dallas, Texas.

I went prepared with a sleeping bag, cooler full of beer, bag of some nice buds, a few pre-rolled doobies...one with some black Afghani hash in it, a bottle of Jim Beam and oh yeah.....some ice cold jumbo peeled shrimp with cocktail sauce. Me and 3 other close friends got there real early in the afternoon before most people started showing up. There were only about 15 there when I finally got the nerve to try dosing the one hit I had. I was a bit nervous but I knew I had no other obligations for the rest of the weekend and I was surrounded by a lot of friends and aquaintences who were ALL there to party one way or another. The weather was nice....a sunny day in the 80's by the lake. Some people had brought some ATV's....LOTS of booze....some babes in bikinis as well which would also make for a wonderful sight while I tripped. Plenty of weed and crazy people everywhere! IT WAS A TRIP....even without the trip....ya know?

Well, I smoked a little bud and had a couple beers and some bourbon when I decided...."now or never" so I dosed. My closest friends there had never tried acid and were watching me to see what basically would happen....if they ever did decide to try it themselves....so I was a little apprehensive about being like a scientific study to them or something. But...I just thought..."Hell with it....have FUN and enjoy this ride...it's MINE and nobody else is REALLY onboard with me!" Besides....everyone else seemed content with the party favors they had for themselves and EVERYONE had a great time.

About 45 minutes after I took it......I felt WEIRD....then my closest friends and I blazed up that "special" doobie of some really potent buds with that little hash thrown in. I had been saving that one joint for close to a week. THEN IT KICKED IN HARD! I remember us all laughing and giggling while we sat in our lawn chairs by the water, passing this killer doob and acting like we owned the place. Soon after I thought I had a momentary blackout but actually I just gazed out at the sun reflections on the lake noticing the intricate and detailed colors on each ripple of each little wave when I suddenly snapped out of it and said...."Shrimp!" I suddenly remembered this jumbo shrimp cocktail in the cooler with sauce and it was all ready to be devoured. I don't really know if I was all that hungry....but it sure sounded good! A couple of my STONED friends really wanted some of those shrimp too....so we all pigged out on them like we were starving kids in a candy store.

I remember laughing a lot and seeing this one guy slowly pull up in a rowboat with a small motor. He knew some of the people there I was with. I will never forget how as his boat slowly cruised up to shore he stood in this boat with his foot up on the bow and I thought to myself...."He must be George Washington(crossing the Delaware) and he journeyed to our shore on this side." "We are the native indians and this is our country." I thought the whole thing was so hysterical at the time. As the day turned into night, I remember peaking right as the sun was setting over the lake and all the beautiful colors that went with it. It was a natural kaleidescope of color in the sky and on the water. These dead trees that stood about 20 ft. into the air were in the lake right off shore and were so wicked as they seemed to all bend into a central point of focus.

The acid took a long time to wear off and it was gradual well into the night. I drank a LOT of beer and some bourbon and smoked quite a bit of weed throughout the evening. Each one of my closest buds had each brought their own sack so there was plenty of weed around and a LOT of drunk people. A few were doing some lines of coke I recall too but I think I was the only one tripping 'cid. One HELLUVA PARTY....Easter weekend '86!

BTW....later that night when it was real dark....I vividly recall I was still tripping and went to piss in the woods away from people when I felt what I thought was a huge spider web I walked into. It FREAKED me out good for a few moments cause I could swear I immediately saw a lot of giant tarantula -sized spiders scurrying everywhere on the ground around me. I RAN like hell out of those woods and hoped it was just the acid fuckin with me.

Didn't sleep until the pre-dawn hours and only for a couple hours in a lawn chair. When I awoke.....everyone who stayed the night was still crashed out in tents or chairs or on the ground. I smoked a doob and watched a couple of big fishes swimming right by the shore. Grabbed a stick and thought about spearing one and fryin it up as a breakfast surprise but they were some nasty, boney-looking carp I think....so I let 'em be. Felt GREAT though the next day....a little fried but great.

My FIRST....of what would become hundreds for the next 15 years.

Peace. %)

God, I Love 'Cid

Nice report. I can imagine myself there in a bikini or nothing at all, swimming to the center of the lake and watching the sunrise.

Uhhhh though I dislike lakes with carp swimming around. In the summer, the best lakes I know are in upper Michigan: mirror smooth.

State Parks are usually good though.

Peace, Love,
Free & Legal LSD!

I used to swim in several lakes in the UP of Michigan near Whitefish Point and Sault Ste. Marie.....including Superior.
That could be a really cold one though! 8o

Mackinac Is. is really sweet too! ;)

Yeah, there's one place on Lake Superior where you could watch the sun rise and set over the lake.

I also liked swimmng in the St. Lawrence Seaway about 2 miles east of the Sault Ste. Marie locks locks. There was a rocky island in the middle that I wanted to get to but chickened out. I was afraid of those big ships too. They warn you to get out of the water when they are present but they went really slow near the locks. Sometimes they would anchor in the river and I wanted to swim out and touch them but was chicken too!

Lots of Eagles and Loons on the lakes too. You could almost swim up to the loons before they ducked under.

Yes, tripping is a trip. Didn't have any doses on that trip but some pretty good weed.
