scaling the pyramids - lsd - experienced

it's been a few months since i have had the pleasure of flipping through posts here at bluelight...a lot of change going on in my life. i decided to take a few months off tripping after a pretty profund acid trip i experienced late in the summer. when acid basically fell into my hands a few weekends ago, i couldn't resist...pyramids with an eye. i recieved a ten strip...the first trip was a one hit "test dose", just so i could approximate it's potency . they were a little less potent than the buddahs i tasted very early this summer, and seemed about the same as the four or so fractal blotters i tried. seeing as it had been awhile since my last experiment, there was a desire to try a high dose...i opted for six hits.

8:00 : down the hatch... i find out a fairly popular jam band will be playing down the street, thus giving me someything to do during the onset.

8:30 : i get to the venue as the opening act walks off the stage. i find a good spot near the stage and amplifiers. the band is leftover salmon, a colorado based band with a strong bluegrass influence, implenting a lot of improv and experimentation into their show. i had only heard a little of their material before the show, so really didn't know what to expect. after the lights dimmed, the acid had definitly shown it's face.

9:30 : as the band stepped on, i knew i was in for something magical. they opened with their mandolin/guitar/fiddle player running through an ambient assortment of effects on a fiddle, being transmitted through numerous peddles he had set up. i closed my eyes and just flowed in the shuffling crowd admiring the cev's of distant galaxies and strange, complex astral arrangements. as the song intensified, he droped the fiddle for a mandolin and picked like hell. nothing like listening to quick fingerpicking when your tripping out...sounded like a sea of splashing notes.

11:30 : i began my walk home as the show had reached it's end. nothing like treking through the ghetto with a headful of acid. leftover salmon proved to be quite tasty, but now my mind was elsewhere. i had 2 joints rolled for after the show, and after i reached my apartment i took to smoking one. after gathering the supplies, i took a seat on the patio and burned one. my view was a large grassy area and a cityscape of different shades of light. as i finished the j, there were thick horizontal waves of seismic energy passing through and around me, cycling through climactic moments and relaxing pulses of calmness. with eyes closed, the visions would draw me deep into strange patterns and dimension defying geometrical shapes. but what astounded me was that i would reach a hallucination in such perfect sychronicity with the setting, the defining moment so to speak...i would ascend past what i thought was perfection, into an even more perfect(?) place/hallucination.

12:45 : i decide to play some guitar...usually a fun thing to do. i sat in darnkess on the floor in my room and picked the acoustic. it was nice to somewhat govern the hallucinations by changing tempos and timings, just making up the rules as i go. i think it's more fun to just improv instead of playing routined material when tripping...floating from pattern to pattern. it's nice to create and evolve material you just created yourself, leaves lots of room to explore.

1:30: i light up my second joint on the couch. i put on some music...while i'm smoking, hendrix - axis bold as love, radiohead - national anthem, and particle - ready made gangsta. for after the smoke, medeski - last chance to dance trance perhaps into a mellowed out assortment of my woob catalog. i put some headphones on and in goes jonny greenwood's "bodysong". this album is mind-blowing, can't begin to explain how intense this was. i was surprised by the intensity of this surge of energy i felt...pleasantly surprised/impressed by the high this late into the trip. still very visual, very calm and relaxing, as opposed to the speedy feeling i sometimes get nearing the end of an acid trip.

3:00 - i spent the next few hours bundled up on the couch, listening to music for a few minutes, then in silence. i zoned out, bouncing around thoughts and ideas until i eventually passed out around 5:00...all in all a great night. i'm sure i'll dance with lucy again sometime soon, judging by the results of this trip. this chemical has so much to offer...next time, i'll try a little higher dose though, to truly see and understand the places it can take my mind and spirit.
thanks for listening

good report, nice to read !! ;)

this is just one more trip report that is telling me to try lsd myself someday. the way you and others describe it sounds absolutely amazing and simply perfect. i'm looking forward to that one special day..

"but what astounded me was that i would reach a hallucination in such perfect sychronicity with the setting, the defining moment so to speak...i would ascend past what i thought was perfection, into an even more perfect(?) place/hallucination."

Sounds incredible!

You sound like a very experienced and calm tripper... personally at that dose of acid I imagine myself doing a poor job finding my way home from a concert ;)

I'm gonna tweak your title a bit so the stuff's in the right order, m'kay

Very nice... I ate a blotter once with the fractal pattern on one side and a pyramid on the other it was pretty strong. It was durning the dead show at last summers bonnaroo.

I like your taste in music, especially leftover and Particle...
