Lowering Oxymorphone ER dosage. What's a good taper?

I have a small prescription Oxymorphone Er habit. 10Mg every 12 hours. I was wondering if I could cut pill in half and take my normal 10Mg in morning and 5mg at night. I want to lower tolerance and save some pills. I'll quarter them if I have to but would like to halve them instead. If this works, 5mg a week.

a doctors office will tell you to drop 10% of your dosage every 3 to 5 days, and i think that thats a good way to do it.

although now that im paying attention to how small of a dosage that is, you may just be able to cut a quarter of your pills off and do it that way

That sounds fair. If I do it myself, I may try the quarter. The pills are too small to cut any smaller. I think a quarter sounds good. I have a doctor that will taper slower if need be.
