so i've not been tuned into the amphetamine high in about 10 months, the reason i stopped is because i was SKINNY as a rail and very unhealthy/constantly sick. so i got into powerlifting about 8 months ago and i've bulked up some, i'm 210 lb now (max deadlift: 335, max bench: 225, max squat: 315) but a few months ago i hurt my left knee meniscus and i've been gaining some weight since i can't jog or squat, and i'm getting surgery this january... so i wanna drop back down to 200 without losing muscle mass.

so i was thinking of taking adderall XR again, but thing is, it eats my muscles within one day. so what if i take some clonidine with the adderall?

would that suppress the formation of catabolic adrenal hormones? and i was also thinking of taking a large dose of amino acids to stop catabolism (like the HCG diet - but turned up an amphetaminic notch)

all help/advice is appreciated :)

Catabolic adrenal hormones? Are you saying adrenaline (NE) catabolizes muscles??

Mixing beta blockers with stimulants is dangerous, it can cause abnormal heart rates and increases your risk from stroke. I don't recommend it. However, I'm prescribed 25mg metoprolol/day and take tramadol (5-HT, NE) weekly, kratom (NE) almost daily, and 12.5mg ephedrine (NE) occasionally, so I'm not sure if low dose beta blockers are OK with stims.

Oh, and nice weightlifting stats. :D

Can you still squat/deadlift with a torn meniscus?

If you do take Adderall, make sure to force yourself to eat every 4 hours, just make those meals healthy, and throw in a whey protein shake with each meal to get a nice dose of amino acids.

hey mate, opiates cause a decrease in adrenocorticotropic hormone.

a decrease in corticotropin means far less cortisol and aldosterone production from the adrenal cortex. not only will you probably gain weight, but be a little less stressed out, too! i think it's the cure all if you ask me (opiates).

on the other hand, opiates can become a serious problem with certain individuals as far as addiction goes.

A bit off topic, but I would recommend rollerblading for rehabbing your meniscus. I had a slight tear in mine, and due to problems with referrals, it was taking forever to get proper treatment. In that time I was not mobile at all, and I was walking with a bad limp. I then started rollerblading, and the motion was very easy on my knee, and there isn't any impact like when you jog, and after 3 weeks of this I was a lot better. I didn't end up having surgery, and I am glad that I didn't.

Whether you have the surgery or not, you should look into rollerblading as a means of rehabilitation.

Great advice tommyboy, thanks for sharing this helpful information! :)

yeah, i can still deadlift, if i don't use my legs too much, but squats have been out of my routine for the past 3 months since the injury :(

i'd be a lot stronger, but unfortunately i think i've been suffering from slightly low testosterone since i was SEVERELY "clinically depressed" for a while back and was a heavy user of amphetamines and other pills all last year. i think i'm setting my hormone balances back on track though, i might also run a testosterone booster to even everything out.

i'm planning on just taking methylphenidate, for some reason it's a LOT milder than adderall on me regardless of dose and it actually makes me hungry sometimes (i think my brain chemistry is strange lol)

thanks, bro! :)

i'm sure any downer would help but as i mentioned on this thread just now, hormone imbalances, and i know opiates lower testosterone. then again maybe i'm just being a bit paranoid. thanks, i'll take a low dose of some downer into consideration, i think i still have carisoprodol!

hehe, my protein intake is more than sufficient, i ate every 4 hours, with at LEAST 30 grams of protein per meal. it's nothing compared to someone like ryan kenelly's diet but it's good enough for someone who's not on steroids lol.

Buprenorphine doesn't have a similar effect as full agonist opiates do, as well, you could use benzodiazepines. :)

Cannabis is always a great stress/anxiety reliever for my life, some people tend to have bad reactions to it though.

opiates are the best, proven to reduce adrenocorticotropic hormone secretion. that's a win/win situation if you ask me. maybe that's why i never catch cold or get stressed... EVER! =)
