I know that sounds completely backwards but does anyone else experience this phenomenon? I recently took 8 days off heroin to lower my tolerance (which I thought would be a good thing) and when I started back using it again, my tolerance was significantly lower but so was the euphoria! Now I experience more sedation, nausea, urinary retention and other side effects than I do euphoria.
As I think about this, I think it has held generally true throughout my heron usage. The greater my tolerance, the more I enjoy the heroin and the less side effects I experience. I found heroin the most euphoric recently when I went on a two week binge, getting very high three times per day. Each time was very euphoric and happy then, with few side effects.
So does anyone else experience this with opiates? Basically, the higher your tolerance/the more dependent you are, the more euphoria you get and the less side effects? I assume this only holds true to a point, in other words there is probably like an ideal ratio between tolerance and euphoria and after that level is surpassed then euphoria goes down even as tolerance continues to increase. But I don't seem to have reached that point yet.
